Thank you, you helped me a lot. For those interested, the spring goes in the little hole on the trimmer side, the rounded end goes in the square shape nest/slot on the body of the shaver.

Thanks man! you saved me couple bucks! The trimmer on my Braun 170 Series 1 stopped working, so some of your advises were great!!! The only tricky part is metal spring you installed totally wrong and maybe you have this buzz because of it. The circle on the spring should fit into square socket on the shaver and other end of the spring should fit in a small hole on the trimmer. Good luck and thanx again!

I know this is a very old video, but I just want to say THANK YOU! I have a similar model from around 2010 (Braun Cruzer 5 Face) and the top part that rotates broke, I ordered a replacement part on eBay but didn't know how to put it on, your 2 plastic cards method helped me take it apart! And I managed to put back that little metal spring too, very helpful!. I appreciate you making this video! I'm sure my shaver will last another 10+ years :) (It was a gift so I am trying to preserve it). Thanks again!

thanks man. you have inspired me to fix my Cruzer 4. I have made a number of improvements though. 1. You have applied the spring incorrectly (other way around) 2. There is a number of plastic pins that are prone to failure. I have replaced all with short bits of 2.5-3 mm thick copper wire. 3. You didn't mention this, but I think you did clean and re-oil the trimmer part after opening it up. this will make it run smoother. I used the oil that came along the shaver.

Many thanks man, that saved me £££ and my Braun 1000 is good as new! Just a note, I didn't bust open the interior cover. Mine was just clogged up with hair, so after a good clean and wash of the clipper section it was back to normal operation. But great video showing how it all disassembles.

Thank you so much for your help with this video. After about one hour I had mine repaired and everything cleaned up. It took me some time to take the plate away without breaking the pins. But everything worked fine as you described here. I managed to glue the original axis pin back in position. I noticed that is almoust round as a circle but has a little flattened side in direction of the rotating trimmers. So I could glue it in original orientation and the broken parts fit together exactly.

Very usefull!!! I had problems just with big trimmer in Cruzer 5, but It was nothing broken but a lot of hair stuck. I used plenty of water and soap then oiled. It's working perfectly. Thanks a lot Ed

Thanks, this was really helpful. I put it back together a bit differently though. The ring shaped side of the spring didn't fit around the plastic as you suggested. I put the round thing in the square shaped whole on the razor itself and fit the hooked shaped side in the little whole on the trimmer side. Also works perfectly.

Thanks, now I know how to take a Cruzer apart, regrettably the spindle that was broken in your shaver is fine on mine. However, it seems that there is too much play on the plastic part that moves the second blade of the big trimmer, thus it does not move much. I clean it and oiled it but nothing. Your solution is good if both trimmers do not work but if only the big one does not then there is not much you can do. Also you must glue the two parts together or they come apart in use.

Thanks! Works VERY similar for the Cruzer 2. I simply changed the whole trimmer part. And now it works again + it is so much sharper. Would recommend anyone to replace that part after two years of use or something, even if still working.

Hola @Guillermo , si, logré abrir las cuchillas tal cuál como aparece en el video, pero me costó mucho poder volverlas a su lugar, tiene un seguro muy complicado. Pero arreglé el problema, no fue necesario afilar nada en mi caso, así que no lo intenté. Es probable que tampoco tengas que hacerlo. Éxito con la mantención y reparación de tu maquina. Saludos.

The spring have to be inserted in opposite position. Rounded end to the shaver body and the pointy end to the small hole in the removable part. That part where you put rounded end in your video serves for blocking removable part against sliding out. You used you credit cards for disassemble it.

Thank you for tutorial. finally fixed the trimmer. Maybe some small advise. I tried to glue cut head of pen, but edges were uneven, so i didn't glue properly. Then instead I cut small nail, and used the head of the nail as side to be glued (as it is flat).

BTW its a great idea to predrill (or burn using a hot needle) some holes and glue your own wire pins in.

I saw your video like a year 1/2 ago, and I fixed the first one .I had my doubts glue in it the small plastic part that acts as a pivot, it´s looked so fragile. Time pass I use it every day and it still working perfectly and this model is so easy to clean not like the new ones. now I´m going to fix my second one, its much older serie 3 model 1775 Great help Gracias

That Metal thing, where you said its tricky, you have to put it into that square, otherwise, if you do it like you did (squeezing it against the stopper), the sliding Part of the shaver wont stay up when shaving, and thats what the metal Part is for.

i could disassembly and assemble properly after your video .. but problem of mine is trimmer moves, but not completely. ... its not broken inside... just it doesnt trim .. the second trimmer just shakes .. doesnt move properly ...

Followed your instuctions, did everything as shown, had the same problem, now the blades are moving, but they dont cut,they irritate the skin and pull the hair. I've cleaned every part,lubed the blades, did everything i could think of, but i cant make this work properly. Any ideas?

I had replaced batteries and other things on the shaver - but when that broke I could not figure out - without possibly breaking it how to get the trimmer OFF the main razor. Two plastic cards! Great ... but how on earth did you figure that out ... Everything thing has its own tricks - I have replaced screens now on 5 different cell phones - each totally different in tricks. Perhaps the worst is the Nexus 4 - the original battery is basically impossible to remove with cracking it ...

Rock N Roll 4 Ever I tried now, but the blue spots are REALLY close, and you will have to glue them really hard, it's really difficult to do it o the 360, mine is broken forever. I think i'll have to buy more superglue... Programmed obsolescence...
