If you don’t have the patience to fix it this way or the strength/help to tip over your machine, they sell washing machine pans (similar to what you’d put under a hot water heater) at Home Depot for $30. This was my short term solution until I could fix my machine!! It caught all the water, saved my floors from any water, and I could easily wipe the pan down after running a load. Hope this helps someone!

Or, as another poster here already mentioned the majority of LG's washing machines have the bottom open. So just tip it on it's side and the pump is right there. No need to remove any panels.

Exactly my thoughts lmao.. u just tip it on its side and unclamp the hose.. done in a few minutes no unscrewing needed!

This guide was great! Although my LG washer was a different model, I was still able to follow along and replace the hose. I didn't have the spring tool, but I managed to get the ring off with a combination wrench and zip ties and put it back on when reassembling. Wonderful instructions!

OR, Instead of doing all that unnecessary work. Tip the washer onto it side or top and replace the hose in a few minutes without removing the panels.

@@andrewstevens1316 First lay the washer onto its left side. This is the side on your left as you face the front of the washer. The bottom of the washer does not have a solid bottom. You now look into the bottom of the washer. The bottom left side will now be on the floor. You can now see the drain hose as it comes into the back and is routed to the front and connected to the drain pump. Using a flashlight to see everything clearly you can remove the clamp pull out the old hose and replace with the new one.

Fantastic video - I suspect my washer is leaking from the drain hose somewhere (water is on the floor after a wash and it is NOT leaking from the intake hoses…) Is there a way to verify that this is leaking before taking everything apart? Ie; pour water into the hose? Thank you.

Does this hose have a check valve? I am wondering if that could be the cause of why I need to drain the water after every load.

at time 4:34 the retaining clamp for the drain hose assembly was removed. What is the bit size to remove this?

At 3:52, when removing the hose, what if at starts to gush up out of the hole that the hose was fitted over? What does that mean?

Why does this not have a Anti-siphon hose on the drainage hose? Mine is currently leaking out of the anti-shiphon hose when draining. :(

All of this is unnecessary, just tip the washer onto its side and access everything from the bottom opening. I've now had two leaks on my wonderful LG (Leaks Greatly) Washer and have learned the hard way how to do it the easy way from experience.

Is there a way to do this without unstacking the dryer from the washer?

yes i did it , but you have to use a dolly to lean it to sideways and set it on something making sure it doesnt move,as it has enough space underneath, then you have access to the clip ,unplug the clip and hose out then same way put hose back takes 15 mins or less ( easier if you lean it to the side where hose clipped to the pump )

Great help. But my problem is it fills half way up the door with water(with no clothes in it) then stops with IE code. I replaced both Inlet valves(genuine LG) and same problem. Filter clean, drain plug line open and drains. Any ideas wjat to look at next? WM3170CW

worst design ever!! So, LG took a simple thing like replacing a leaky hose and turned it into removing 2 large panels, unplugging stuff, unscrewing clamps...unbelieveable. Hey LG, ever looked at other washing machines and seen how you can do it by just pinching off a clamp on THE OUTSIDE of a machine- WITHOUT removing ANY panels???!!!
