Thanks for sharing this. Here in my local we see very few fusee clocks. I have only had 2 in for repair in the last 20 years! So it's very interesting to see this work set up.

Tommy, Your centre height finder will only be accurate when your lathe bed is also spot on level front to back won't it ?

I have a hand tool someone made for cutting fusee cones from blanks. I probably have a few blanks kicking around also lol

@@TommyJobson I have a few odds and sods. 8" Fusee in Oak c1930. 14" convex c1860 and a couple of London 12" clocks. Genuine not lash up's. I never traded in marriages only original clocks. Most of the spares I sold off but I still have that fusee cutting tool and cones. Just drop me a message if you're interested.

How are these cut without cnc threads on a curve originally?

You use a lot tool that can follow the curve of the cone, there are various types. It mounts on the cross-slide and moves with the carriage and you apply the pressure to keep it on the surface of the cone by hand.

camera angle is from behind the chuck. cant figure out when you were machining. similarly your hands block critical views around 9.30 and 6.00. kindly note while making instructional videos. wolderful tool height aligner. great
