Everybody talks about lint in the socket but my usb-c is clean and the connection is still hit and miss. I've come to the conclusion that a usb-c connector is just very poorly designed.

This is the majority of video on KZbin dirt in the female end of the device but what happens when you clean it out and it still doesn't work then it would be the cable itself right? and no one has a vid for that. cleaned it thoroughly and still have the same problem but when I get a new cable it clicks in well.

This did not work for me but heres what I did to fix my loose type C android charger cord ...I took the end that connects to the android phone charging port and placed the (silver part only) on the edge of my wood shelf ( a flat 90° edge) and gently tapped on it with a metal padlock ...turning the cord over and tapping on this side also. The cord will fit snug into the charger port. At first it will feel like it wont fit but be patient while connecting it..it will work. When I did this...I heard it click into place. I was able to hold the cord with my phone connected and like MAGIC it did not become disconnected. I hope this helps

The poster states that placing the usb port flat on a hard surface and using a corner of something metal and heavy tap on the face of one side in order to create a divot or dent. This in turn squeezes the receiving side closer together so that they grip the female connector. Instead of using a padlock, I used a tiny hammer.

Every video mentions dust/dirt in the port. I cleaned it out and there was a little but did not make any difference . My charger just falls out easily and I cant find any other advice other than cleaning it. Am I just screwed ?

I have the same issue. Like the charger isn't big enough for the port, and it quite literally falls out unless I mess with and prop it. I think they get worn down faster, and the inner port shrinks from usage, and I think the charger expands from colliding

Guys, if you tried this and still not charging because you wiggle the cable. You'll need to lower the 2 prongs inside the usb c slot (top or bottom). Over time, the prongs dont apply pressure to the port. So just push them down with a toothpick or something. (Non metal)

Cleaning the ports is a must for any device but what I've done to get a better connection is to take a very thin strip of tape of almost any kind and wrap it around the base of the tip that goes into the device. Some trial and error may happen to find the right fit. You may have to discard the tape and cut a different sized piece a couple of times but I've found it to work every time I've attempted once I get the right size piece of tape and everything fits snug

I did this and thought it was clean, so tried sticking the cable in there. But it still wouldn't go in all the way and it still didn't keep connection if I wiggled the chord from side to side. I then tried some more with the toothpick and was able to remove 2 teenie weenie chunks of lint and that did it. So apparently it takes veeeery small amounts of lint for it to cause this issue. Now it plugs all the way in and doesn't lose connection. :) I used a "Plackers" toothpick. The plastic one that has a little string of dental floss on the other end (shaped almost like a y). The pointy end of this type of toothpick was already thin enough for me to be able to get all the way in there without having to carve on it with a knife.

Can we get a video for fixing ports that children seem to "blow out" from shoving the chargers in and yanking out. I've bought my 5 year old four tablets in less than a year, all because the ports are no longer able to hold the charger, no lint or dirt. They will take a charge, but even with a brand new charging cord, I still have to "McGuyver" the port and charger to keep a connection. I am currently using a Gatorade lid to charge my son's less than month old Kindle. I home school, and tablets are used daily for schooling.
