Wood & metal together make a great marriage. I love them together. Beautiful dining set.

Wow, max, I love Sashimono/joinery. I have been learning and wanting to do japanese Sashimono for some time now, but I never thought to mix blacksmithing with it. What a brilliant idea and beautiful work thank you for sharing and for more inspiration.

I love how the only metal is either decorative or designed to be seen. That's the kind of dining set you drink out of goblets. Wood might not be your medium, but you did great work with it.

So, a small trick I've run across from my father for gluing repairs like that. If you can get a hold of some hypodermic needles with thin tips you can slip them down the crack in the wood and inject the glue deeper into the crack. He was a veterinarian so he always has a lot of random medical tools around the workshop.

Next time you have a would fix like that, might I suggest using different glue. Wood glue swells the wood. A better glue for small cracks like that would be simple CA glue or super glue. It also flows much thinner than wood glue which would allow it to penetrate deeper into the crack. The last benefit is that it dries much faster.
