JB Weld thread maker might work to repair the stripped threads that you run into. I don't know if it would have a fine enough texture for real small threads but seem to work quite well for threads that I have used it for on models. Thanks for the work you do on all the videos. They are very informative and well done. The short length is very refreshing at times.

I hawe the small 3" kit, it is indeed an interesting construction, but as Keith said in the previous videos it is a pretty advanced kit wich rewquire some practice before taking it on but they are in my opinion easier than the Stuart pumps but the function is as far as i can see whan i compare the kits the same. I know Keith does not like whan i talking about low pressure toy machines here, but Wilesco made a simplifyed pump wich as i remember where basicaly a reversed pendulum piston fitted with valves. (I think it was for the firetruck and as a water feedpump on some more expensive models like the D32 if i am not wrong).

I find the Worthington type steam pumps very interesting. Since I own 2 original pumps of this type myself. The function of these pumps is very simple. The Stuart casting set is still waiting to be machined.

This turned out to be quite a difficult job. Mainly because it was badly made and in a bad mechanical state.

Hello Keith; Here's one of those words that is pronounced differently from you in the US. Pica is pronounced (pie-ka) here. It was originally a method of measure of type size in printing, most likely British. I have a ruler that measures in picas. Picas are similar to tenths of an imperial inch, used in civil engineering. I'm not real sure about the last, but my civil engineer scale (ruler) closely matches my pica ruler. Great video. ;-)

Interesting so on a steam engine how much space should there be between the cap and piston, is having too much just a waste of steam or a safety factor against Hydrostatic lock?

very little space is needed, it means that more space is available to fill with steam.
