Not just the watch, the process and care were beautiful as well. I wish I had my grandfathers watch from WWII. When I was 9 years old, my mother showed me a trunk that I was supposed to inherit, containing bagpipes, tools, a pocket watch, uniforms, and service records from my GrandFathers time in the military. Unfortunately, I ended up being taken away to live in group homes. Never seen that trunk again. He died 2 years later whilst I was in the homes and I missed the funeral.. didn't even find out he was gone until a year after. It would've been a nice keepsake in his memory, I hope it is being looked after even half as well as the watch in the video, the bagpipes also! Anyway, excellent work.

Would have loved to see how they restored the enamel face! It looks like they just replaced it, which is disappointing. I feel like a bit too much character is lost when this happens.

4:42 “the only part that was replaced in this watch…” Agreeing with the another comment, the statement implies reference to the contents of the case. The dial was only cleaned, but had it been replaced, it certainly would have been a significant replacement and mentioned in the narration.

The greatest joy is holding a working pocket watch for a child to watch the mechanism. Did that several times over the weekend, each one was amazed by the tiny parts ticking away before their very eyes.
