How big is your mend pile? ✂️👚Is it a mountain of mending 🏔 or a manageable mend pile 🏝? Or are you one of those unicorns without any mending? 🦄 Let me know in a comment down below! 👇🏻

I am going to start calling it Mount Mend now. And try to work on Mending Mondays to motivate myself a bit. Having watched someone make a serious dent in their pile, I am inspired to work on mine!

I am so glad to hear! 🤗 I also need to get back to my Monday mending-habit to make sure that Mount Mend do not re-emerge. 😝

1. Replace the door knobs that you are hanging on with safer knobs. I had to do this myself in my own home. 2. If there is a self lined yoke on your shirt, you should be able to cut a patch from the inside of that yoke (then mend the hole in yoke with another patch. If there is a large tag on the yoke, you should be able to take some fabric from under the tag (then sew the tag back down as a patch). Line up the strips; and, needle turn under about 1/8 inch of the fabric all around the patch while you blind stitch the patch over the hole. Then cover the hole on the back with an iron on piece of woven interfacing. 3. Buy an iron on patch with a machine embroidered design on it. Read the instructions with the patch; and, iron the patch over the hole. I always machine stitch around the bought patch to keep it from coming off in the drier. I buy these patches ahead of time with butterflies and flowers on them (to keep them ready); and, I have been using them to keep my old (30 years plus) wind-braker rain jacket usable. Everyone loves the patches on that old jacket. The only place left to buy these patches in my area is WalMart.

I have started squeezing in mends between client jobs. This way I can productively procrastinate and my _mend mountain_ is more like a rolling hill.

Rolling hill - I love that! 😄 Productively procrastinate is my favourite type of procrastination 😜

Great job. Thanks for the ideas. I have a few things that need mending. So I guess I better get to work. 😆

I started #mondaymending, but I too have been slacking off and am drowning in my unworn clothes. I'm reinspired to start again. Thanks so much!

Yay! You can do it! 💪🏻 I am gonna re-start my #mondaymending habit this coming Monday too. The past week only I had a lot of clothes joining my pile... 😒

@@missmatti I'm ready! After watching, yesterday, I made a plan. I've sorted Mount Mendmore by order of importance and by colour thread needed, also kept aside the items that need hand sewing (for cooler days under a blanket😂)

I have so much mending to do, I think I need to train my family members to mend their own stuff. 😅

Haha...that sounds like a good plan! I bet they are the main contributors to that mending too! 😜

Somehow my supply of thread never matches as yours do, nor do I ever have matching fabric. Your stash is great!

Oh thank you! 😊 💕 I have collected (read: hoarded) items over many years. Eventually you will have matching fabrics & threads too 😉

I don't even want to think of all I need to do. I think a lot of my "mending" has turned into scrap fabric since the clothes no longer fit lol!!
@missmatti

I hear you! ❤️ Sometimes my mending moves to the scrap fabric / upcycle project bin instead too.
