Repairing Astra H Wing Mirror Casing

The Casing of wing mirror was smashed off by another driver, in this video I check for damage and fit the casing back on

Yesterday some asshole hit my mirror and took off. Insurance doesn't cover it as I don't know who did the damage. Thanks for this, I gonna get it fixed myself and luckily it isn't too expensive to get a new cover.

How do i fix the problem with the positioning. I mean i have the same problem here. My mirror lags with the electric control and i need to place the correct position as he did with his finger. How do i fix that problem?

Life saver. This just happened to me with my Astra. I was wondering, how do I fully take off the top and bottom housing? As it’s only cracked the top/main housing and half the bottom has come off

Thanks for your videos I've found them very helpful. Don't know if you're Still monitoring this channel years later but here's hoping. I've had the same thing happened to mine, only with the casing smashed as they were run over after the hit. Currently trying to figure out if I can get casing replaced or need whole mirror. Was your astra the ones with electronic folding mirrors? Wondering if that makes it a more complicated just to replace the mirror as a whole

It was without folding mirrors ...replacing the case would be the cheaper and quicker option but its not a complicated job to replace whole mirror I'd go with whatever you thinks best

@Seans Autos nice one thanks At the moment the hardest thing is trying to find the folding mirrors via scrap yards as they're apparently quite rare. Will see if I can get away with just replacing the casing. Thanks!
