excellent videos serious question: in your experience which brand is the most easy to deal in terms of getting parts .. burying or warranty parts ?? Daikin , Mitsu , Fujitsu , ETC thank u in advance
@maracservices2 жыл бұрын
I think Panasonic has the best warranty setup here in Aus. They send their own guys out to sort warranty jobs. They often sort out issues that were caused by bad installers when it’s not even their problem. That shows that they care about their customers. None of the other brands do that. I’m a Daikin guy but I’ll be honest, their spare parts and warranty side of things is terrible. I don’t like Fujitsu but they have the best website to order spare parts from. So to be honest, every brand has their benefits. You just need to work out what works best for your needs. I use Daikin because they have splittable indoor units and their indoor units as well as some of their controls are manufactured in Aus and I like to support local.

Good video as always mate 👍 I see someone was hold a umbrella, have you seen the umbrella with the magnet base? Really good when changing PCB.

I actually saw a mate use one of those recently. I definitely need to get one!

It's ridiculous that the board is installed on the outside, it's wet outside and humid, plus they shipped that Main Board in normal bubble wrap, the static electricity in that could damage the electronics.
@alouisschafer72122 жыл бұрын
Why are they dying? Exposure to the elements? For all I know id love to see that board and other electrical components in a proper enclosure not just mounted bare behind a cover. I don't see a million wires coming off the board either so I think they could easily just run a multicore flex to the unit and have the board inside somewhere.

@@alouisschafer7212 I believe it was something to do with weak capacitors on the board
@maracservices2 жыл бұрын
@@alouisschafer7212 this particular board was damaged due to a power surge. The customer said that they had a power surge that took out three different circuit breakers. The actual component that failed was the PFC. My gripe with these things is how unreliable they are. I’ve started using surge protectors on jobs but realistically Daikin should be building them into the units.

why did you replace the fan motor? I was the cause of the damage in the board?

Done a few of these. Absolutely frustrating that we can pay all that money for a PCB and the manufacturer doesn't supply a tiny tube of thermal paste in the box. Been caught out before .
@maracservices2 жыл бұрын
I got caught out so many times I ended up buying heaps and just leaving it in my fridge in the van. I agree, they should definitely send out some paste !!

Obviously not something covered by daikins warranty. Pricey component directly from daikin. You'd think they would send it for cost ...considering its only 2years old. I Guess they've got the upper hand. On the customer without a/c
@maracservices2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, Daikin's customer support isn't great in my opinion compared to Panasonic (who I also deal with) however they did replace the faulty part under warranty which is good because these parts are ridiculously expensive.
@DoctorWEBB2 жыл бұрын
@@maracservices the sad truth is they don't want us to repair these units. They would prefer to sell a br new a/c unit. In this Consumer driven wasteful ridiculous game... we all play in. Working away just trying to stay alive so we can battle the end boss man & go up another level hehe

@@DoctorWEBB I made a video of me replacing a fan motor because it was causing an error code. The fan motor was totally fine but because it was spinning at a sightly slowing speed it was causing a fault. This is forcing customers to replace components that still work. It’s actually ridiculous.

@@maracservices I looked at a mates Daikin I hooked up 2 years ago. He ruffed the unit into his double story...tripled the size house extension. He did the neatest ruff in I've ever seen. I basically came in & did all the connections and got it up & running. It was 67 degrees in he's roof but otherwise all went great. Running perfect for roughly 2 years. Happy days. He had a power fail last week. Mains Power went off for a few minutes & it hasn't run since. The a/c c/b was tripped. All fuses are ok voltages test all ok. A snail & a bug thing have become fried goo on the main board from what i could sorta see . goo residue has run down from the crispy critters. What a pain to get into. time consuming af. Suspect main boards kaput. Snails ate the schematic diagram & I couldn't locate anything similar while on site via google. Waiting on reply from tech support to see if pcb for this model is even available. Sorta need it working asap. best place to get tech diagnostic procedure for particular model Daikins. Any suggestions? Its been ages ...since , I've had to do any Daikin. So Iam a bit rusty. Cheers its a RZQ160Lv1 ducted 15.5kw 👍U2 fault
