Usually shit like that happens when architects decide to change things around, or change AC brands. I've always cut indoor flares off and gone braze connections from installation day, one less place to leak

Nice work, love pana's ... I cut off all indoor flares and solder them out of existence .. great work narrowing this one down, sneaky weird brass adaptor ! who the hell thought that was a good idea

Haha yeah I thought the same thing about the adaptor. Those things are bad news!

Nice work again Mitch. I like how you breakdown the pressure testing for Multi-splits. I can share, that the pipe reducer shown in the video isn't from Panasonic. It is a requirement however for some indoor heads (depending capacity) to step down. Part# CZ-MA1P for 1/2 to 3/8. 😊

It’s interesting because the indoor unit has been manufactured to have 5/8”suction. Every install I’ve seen does the reducing (if required) at the outdoor unit flares. In this case they had the reducer on the indoor then another one at the outdoor flares. So it reduced down 2 sizes. But as you saw, it still worked so alls well ends well! This place has 800 units and now they have my card so that’s the first place I’ll be looking in the future if I ever have to go back 😂

The unit will run and cool but I've noticed downsizing the suction drops efficiency and sometimes the compressor runs louder.
@maracservices
@maracservices Жыл бұрын
Interesting. I honestly don’t know but I would put money on the fact that it would be less efficient running a smaller suction line to the outdoor. Then at the outdoor it reduces to 3/8” from 1/2”. It definitely still works but I was just interested because I’ve never seen a reducer like that on an indoor unit.

Do many people install panasonic in Australia? Theres a fair bit in the uk now but its pretty crap in my opinion
@maracservices

Id say it’s pretty popular mate. I have an account with them and installed a few back in the day. They are a good company and I have only good things to say about them. I just made the decision to move to Daikin because there were and still are many things I think they do better then Panasonic in my opinion.

Working on units like this that give you no room, that could definitely be handy. I’ll have to grab one.

Hey Mitch How did you retrieve the fault code on the Panasonic remote?
@maracservices
@maracservices Жыл бұрын
You need something small like a small Allen key or toothpick to press the small button down the bottom of the remote controller. I can’t remember what the small button was called. If there’s more then one, just try both. You need to hold the button down for a few seconds until it comes up with the codes. Then you cycle through the codes using the timer up or down buttons until it beeps on the relevant code.
