I’m a Hilti technician and I’ve never seen a chuck done this way before. You had it right the first go around. You just should have removed the c clip first. C clip always goes last. Otherwise that’s the correct way. If you can’t push the clips down wiggle them with a pair of pliers. They will go down. Also fair to note if the shaft of the chuck have worn or beaten up groves, you need a new gearing. Which comes with the chuck assembled onto it anyway

I’m really struggling to get this to work for me,ordered the exact same parts but can’t get the balls to click into place like in the video. Have tried both ways shown,maybe the hilti technician who does them daily could post a video for us all to see the way he recommends doing it,now sure what he means by wiggling the clips with pliers but would love to see it done,

@@deandohertygreaser yeh they're not fucking great. I bought them super cheap off a mate when all my previous Makita stuff was stolen. I sent them to hilti they took ages so I cancelled the repair they sent them all back in bits....
