problem with these machines is that the pump is always full of water even when the machine is empty .I have a similar Hotpoint machine that had the same problem till i fitted a drain tap to the pump so the last of the water can be drained

I've got a Montgomery Ward washer with the same problem, I'm going to follow your instructions. The other issue is the agitator isn't working. I can spin it around no problem but when I plug it in..nothing. The motor works and I can see the pulley spinning around underneath...any ideas?

Is the drive belt intact?

@@lexmarks567 Good question, I'll have to dig a little deeper.

Nice! I forgot you had mentioned to me that you fixed it. Those clamps are very reminiscent of the radiator hose clamps that were used on GM products. Allegedly my car is supposed to have those also to be period correct, they make reproductions but it's not that kind of car. If I recall, they were using these into the late 70s, my mother had a 78 or 79 Chevy Chevette that used those clamps. From what I understand, they don't work as well as the worm-drive screw clamps we know of today.

Great job, success at last, bet you feel like that was an accomplishment. Just the switch now and you’re done.
