From here it looks like the soldering needed more heat. Hydrofluoric acid could have helped too. That 'water drop' shape tells me that. If it soldered correctly just a minimum amount of tin would be enough to join original and new wire. Just my humble contribution. Love your new shop btw!!!

You can just install a switch to the black and white wires and ground to the green wire. I connected those too a cord and now I have to plug it in, but it works. I'll go get a switch, and see if there is a three pole switch. Forget the circuit board. @@jasonwhitaker2726

I buy Jet filters, but I build my own box (nice little project for a change) using 8 re-purposed industrial grade 120mm computer fans and an old computer PSU I got from an auction. Works great. I get 50 more CFM than the Jet box. Just a tad more but not too much to not bust the filters.

I tried this method today, damn it still buzzing! the specification of my capacitor: WIMA MKP 4 w7 1µF 630- 10% What should I check in your opinion? I made a mistake to buy such type of capacitor?

It looks like yours has the same specs as mine besides the MKP "Metallized polypropylene film capacitor" reference, which is an MKS "Metallized Polyester (PET) Capacitor" reference on mine. I doubt that could be the problem though. Does the fan turn freely? The engine also has it's own capacitor which could be damaged. that would be the next thing to check.

Thank you for your reply! The engine runs, but apart the boring noise that emits standby, I checked the current consuption and in this state (when buzzing) absorbs 200w, when I turn it in position 1 absorbs 96w and this blow my mind. then there is another capacitor? I practically dismantle it?

There should be a capacitor on the engine itself, the most likely break down is the circuit board one, but as you already replaced that one the problem is elsewhere. Perhaps try to supply power directly to the engine and see if it runs (check the voltage it runs on), if it runs then the problem is in the circuit board.

My JDS- 750 has a similar board in it. They removed the processor numbers. Dead after replacing the caps, I'm just going to a mechanical switch and forget the controller board. This stuff doesn't last for the money spent.

The reference is in the video description, you'll have to search for that online or ask an electronics shop. It's a basic part that you can't get from Jet, they only have the complete cards.

Le moteur avait de plus en plus de mal à démarrer et faisait un bruit de bourdonnement, c'est typiquement un problème de condensateur. Et aussi le fait que c'est LA panne de ces filtres JET.

To save 50 cents per machine I guess, time will tell if the original ones were just poor quality or if another parts causes the capacitor to fail.

Actually the soldering was done by a retired electrician who helped me with this, I would have never found the problem alone. But yeah, it's always when you are filming and there's only one take possible that you make a horrible weld, but hey it will work just as good.

I had to get it from a physical electronics hardware store, but you should find them when searching for 1µF capacitors, chose one with more than 400v resistance.
