This machine has taken some damage. Nice to see you put a lot of time and effort into it. I never was an Amstrad guy but am very happy also to see these machines taken care of. It is very intersting to watch and follow how you come up with the needed unconventional solutions. Thank you.

Great to see you back at it again. Looks like that machine has had a hard life but it's looking good.

With such an irregular break in the plastic for the return key, maybe lay down tape, then fill in the entire section with epoxy to create a new floor/structure to work from. Then drill out a new hole and 3d print a new spring cylinder / key post.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll try that :-)

Good to see you and Kojro both have new videos up. That looks like a late-model Speccy, judging from the AMSTRAD label on the board. That would put it somewhere past about 1986? You will, I'm sure, eventually get it working 100% again. Be careful with silicone grease - it tends to migrate and get on belts and other stuff it really shouldn't.

@@Arcticretro You're welcome, Tommy. White Lithium grease (like Lubriplate) is a bit better, and tends to stay where you put it a bit better.

Me encanto tu video. Soy de argentina. Aca esas maquinas hicieron historia junto con la commodore 64. Sos de alaska?

Maybe you know, but sometimes on the 128K machines, you need to drop into 48 BASIC and load"" the tape there to improve compatibility with older software

Was just about to comment that the problem was probably the cpu and then got to the part where you also found out and got it running. Hitch the diagnostic cartridge you could see, ‘no diagnostic hardware found’ and the remark about the m1 line. I think the z80 that was in it had exactly that, a bad m1 line.
