One of my first real jobs, when I was 18 years old, was binding pairs of auxiliary metal gas tanks together for shipment. We used these very tools, but we used metal strapping rather than the plastic/nylon strapping showed here. Thanks for sharing this video with us and for bringing back those memories from so long ago. Texas is watching.

La qualità del restauro assoluta. Bravo, anzi di più.

I really like seeing unusual manual tools being restored, there's something about seeing the ingenuity about their design that appeals to me. Also there’s only so many 1980's B&D drill or cheap angle grinder restorations you can watch before you feel the need to burn your own eyes out. When they are restored to a superior state than when they were new it’s even better. Excellent as always, thank you.

I bought one of these sets off of eBay about a year or so ago. They work great. It's the kind of tool where most people would rarely need it, but when they do need it, trying to make do with packing tape instead makes for a poor substitute.

I used these tools in the 70's. Back then, metal strap and U shaped clips with small openning was used instead.

You do such fantastic work , but I think it’s waisted because the castings you clean up come out better than from the factories

While not a bad restoration, there were areas that the paint was not properly removed as well as areas with rust and rough areas not all repaired/corrected... I'm not a fan of using paint to just cover ills... That just covers up problem areas that will crop up later

70% If you want to restore something, and use your time to fix an old object. You should give every pice a little more care. Your result is ok, but it’s flimsy and the finish isn’t as god as it was when it was new. If your only goal is to make KZbin videos. You have succeeded. But if you goal is to be a good craftsman. You should be a little more precise, and give every pice a little more love and time. 😊
