Love watching your videos, thank you. Some advice I was given years ago regarding blocked injectors. Never put a pin down them. The pin you use is likely to be bigger than the hole your trying the clear and in turn will allow excess gas to flow through. Very dangerous stuff. Instead, try boiling in vinegar. Worked for me quite a few times 😊 hope it helps and looking forward to your next upload.

That is like those old floor furnaces with the metal grates. Just about every house I lived in until I was 12 had them. I fell on one when I was three and burned my leg. There is a picture of me floating around somewhere sitting on my new tricycle in front of the Christmas tree with those grate marks on my leg. They were dangerous. Fast forward 35 years and an elderly neighbor of mine was killed in a house fire when her floor furnace malfunctioned. I had nightmares about that for weeks. It was horrible.

A llittle safety tip: never use teflon tape on a gas system. Any small fragments that are created when screwing in the pipe may break off in the future and clog the jets. It is against Building codes in the US to use teflon products in gas systems for that reason. We used a sealant called KeyTite. By the way, Thumbs up.

Nothing like brass or bronze, my favorite metal to work with. Cleans up so nice, and its absolutely beautiful! Don’t know if this is accurate or not, but I was told with gas that a blue flame indicates complete combustion, no or very little CO emission, whereas a yellow flame indicates incomplete combustion, resulting in a higher CO emission. Love the light through the glass, just beautiful, I could sit back and watch this thing for hours. Great work as always.

I find your shows fascinating to watch and am impressed by your skill and patience. As a chemistry teacher, your use of electrolysis and electroplating is especially interesting. One thing that puzzles me is that with some projects you use a rust remover or some other chemical or physical means to remove the rust, yet with others, you go straight to sandblasting as you did here. How do you make this determination.
IMO the older stuff like this antique heater are actually better than the modern stuff. This has style and soul.

Reminds me so much of the still around in the 1970's paraffin heaters that a slight gust of breeze could knock over all lit and spread a home conflagrating puddle of fuel across the place and people did die from this back in the day. Electric heaters were little better being basic kanthal based live coils and the newspaper reports of some old dear balancing it on the edge of the bath trying to keep warm and kablooey, was dangerous times when your own home did its level best to fight you... It was why in the UK, the CORGI standard became so important and leading to the condemning of hundreds of thousands of highly dangerous appliances.

@@TigerheartedWolf That's sad in itself. For how fast we made things we still somehow don't have time. Also, what happened to people having skills such as this? One person doesn't need to know them all. These skills were generally passed down and then it stopped for the most part.
@TigerheartedWolf3 жыл бұрын
@@xTashleyx I mean people have these skills. It's just that these days there's a lot else people can do too. It like you hear of certain skills that were once passed down through the generations back in the days when communities were more isolated and people didn't really leave them. Now ex-skills may only be known by the elders of these communities because the younger ones are leaving the communities, seeing the world and learning things the elders never did. Nothing wrong with it. People have to move with the world, not get stuck in time. Also, these things that are getting restored are generally things made in a time when mass production wasn't as much of a thing. And usually have been surpassed by something more modern. So really only people with the skill will want to go to the effort of restoring them.
