Reparations Task Force: Public Session June 1, 2024

The City of Detroit Reparations Task Force is a 13-member body consisting of four executive members appointed by Council President Sheffield and nine general members. The task force will develop recommendations for housing and economic development programs that address historical discrimination against the Black community in Detroit.

Due to prior comments I was unable to attend the last meeting at the Northwest active center. How can I sign up for the reparation? I have documented proof I was over assessed my property tax. Please respond in the comments. This message was sent June 12, 2024

Direct cash payments, other ethnic groups have gotten repair. If it’s not for Slavery then it’s not Reparations.

For real reparations: they identify an actual victim of the offense in question. They specify the abuses and damages. They assign a dollar amount for their compensation. They pay the victim. If the victim is deceased; they identify the closest living legal heir and pay them.

Reparations is actual proven victims being compensated by their actual violators. Forcing the innocent to pay nonvictims for something that happened to neither of them is not reparations. If you aren't out anything; You aren't owed anything.

Reparations should include -Zoning off areas of city for Black BUSINESS DISTRICT - a protected space for us to build and develop Black industry economy and instutions -MONEY must be allocated to us so we have to resources to build black nation

I can't tell where the original sins of hurting ppl stems from because whoever it is keep the retaliation and no understanding even basic concepts and manners up where I have to be faster awareness than grammar.
