Perfect timing! I’ve been looking at investing on my tools instead of buying more makeup. 😂. Hopefully I can catch the new Rephr set. Some of the shapes remind me of Westman’s brushes.

Thank you for your video. I was completely stumped between the two because I’m about to make an investment in the form of a gift for my wife who is a MUA. I didn’t want to ask because I wanted to surprise her but definitely give her the best of the best. And now I understand that although she’d be happy with Rephr, she’ll be happier with Sonia G. And in the end, that’s all I want! So again, thank you…

Hii! I was just checking out your channel. I figure with such a stunning photo i knew you would have a channel. I have your declutters in my watch later section.Thank you so much! I know some people dont have the funds to invest in the Sonia G brushes or dont feel the need to make a brush investment so i figure the comparison would help. The sonia G brushes are amazing. Also to translate the look you had in your head to your your eyes. Its just a dream to work with. 💙

Sonia puts so much thought into every aspect of her brush design and she is so lovely. Back when Rephr hadn't even launched yet, and were doing their massive PR kickstarter campaign I went to the website, obviously intrigued...read their inspiration behind the brand creation (engineer men coming to fix our female problems....as if fude hasn't been a long standing tradition already) and I checkout out and never bought anything. I found you through your LE palettes video, really fun to stumble upon a fellow NL-based luxury makeup enthusiast.

Ahh NL based luxury enthusiasts are my kind of people! I feel its a niche. Not that many of us out there. The LE palette video i predict will be one of my most watched videos and definitely one people seem to enjoy. That video took me nearly a day to film and nearly a day to edit ( i juggle my mom life and office life with my channel) but with this price point i wanted to be informative and useful. I had a vision for my video and i am happy i executed it the way i invisioned. Even though inuploaded a day later than scheduled. Sonia G brushes are really a class on its own. Very beautiful in execution. I am so impressed. Many showed an interest in the comparison so i figure a collective video could help people with their spending. I know in this day and age with prices rising a affordable option might be better for some. I know little about the rephr subject sadly. I might have to research it more.💜 thanks for your message. I also speak Dutch btw. In case you want to comment in Dutch.

@@sonia.butler Dat hoeft helemaal niet hoor haha, ik ben zo gewend om hier in Engels te communiceren. I rarely come across others indeed, but then again it is not as if I am searching intently. It was a very extensive and well-prepared video. You did a really good job! Haha I am quite shocked at the views I am getting (and the influx of new people....), did not expect it one bit (not plugging self-promotion here haha, just able to relate). Sonia's brushes are definitely not for everyone and they are an investment. I still love and enjoy my Zoeva brushes, which are close to a decade old. Fude is a whole experience and also quite niche. I am not a full on fude nerd, but I do enjoy the experience.

Great review. I’m slowly switching to natural brushes and although we are lucky to have all these great options available in the market today, it’s also kind of overwhelming (I want it all lol). Side note, I don’t understand why Beautylish would charge you taxes if you live in Europe! Did you try to reach out to their customer service? I find it odd 🤷‍♀️
@sonia.butler
@sonia.butler 11 ай бұрын
I think its overwhelming as well! And a expensive rabbit to fall into hahaha but i see them as investments for my channel and looks. Some should last you forever. Beautylish is based in the USA so i have to pay an import export tax since Europe does not have a free trade agreement with the USA. It makes buying from beautylish not really worth it for me. Sonia G sadly is nowhere else to be found so for Sonia G or Wanye Goss i would use Beautylish. I hope you got yourself some good brushes to choose from❤️ not all of the brushes i bought i use often but some are holy to me haha

I have one sigma brush and its great! But for me the range, sale price and general use of rephr brushes make them so worth it. I do hear a ton of bad things about the shedding of rephr brushes which some of mine do. But not to the extent that i would recommend them. I do think reviews and personal usage of makeup play a part in which brush brand you enjoy. Some people are exclusively Sonia G or BK. I am not that exclusive. I hahe some great brushes from all❤️

You never mentioned how soft they are. Which ones are softer? How do they feel?
@sonia.butler
@sonia.butler Жыл бұрын
What is difficult with this question is that they do not differ too much in how soft they are. My Sonia G master Face vs Rephr 37 - the Sonia G feels slightly softer but not by sooo much that I would prefer one judged on softness. Its very slight. With these videos its hard to get all the information out since there is soo incredibly much to say and I dont like 45min videos myself. Sonia G combines its bristles so density can be the biggest difference when it comes to Sonias Fusion series. Performance is a great factor in how these differ. I find my Sonia G brushes often faster in getting the job done. Feels nicer maybe. But neither feel hard. Rephr did an amazing job with their brushes. If there was a bad brush or if there was a huge difference between the two I would have definetly mentioned it. But it was simply not the case.

Thanks for the double review, just in time for the rephr sale 😊 Would you say the natural hair SG are significantly softer than the Rephr? I want to upgrade my current brushes (of a different brand) because some of them feel a little scratchy to me. I wonder if the Rephr would be enough of an improvement
@sonia.butler
@sonia.butler Жыл бұрын
Significantly softer... i would say no. Not Significantly softer. I dont experience my rephr brushes as scratchy. None of them are completely missing their purpose or are unenjoyable in use There is a difference in shape, density, application and versatility. Most my SG are overall scoring better. Nontheless i felt comfortable recommending all my rephr brushes in a heartbeat. I use all of mine. With the 50% rephr sale coming up tomorrow i would recommend putting in a small order to test out the waters. Even with 1 brush you can get a feel for the weight and texture. Rephr will always have a sale again to return to or a concept store with new goodies.

I would suggest you check out Alicia Archers channel or Rephr brushes she goes into extremely epful details on how to use each brush. She owns several brands of fude brushes. From Sonia G al the way up to extremely expensive brushes. I have a mature hooded eyes I like that I can use number one and because it has a pinch barrel I can turn it on its side to blend through the crease number two for me is a shader brush and I use that to put on my inner eye color. I own all the Rephr brushes I’m a huge fan.

The 17 is technically a foundation brush but it is great for cream base products and i use this with cream blushes as well. For a smaller cream blush brush i love the 35. That one looks a lot like the westman atelier baby blender snd great for stick blushes since it is a little smaller in size!

Rephr brushes aren’t even in the same class as Sonia G brushes. Not by a mile. Rephr brushes are like the Morphe brushes of the Fude world. They start out soft but go downhill quick with heavy use. The bristles start to splay making the brush heads appear almost raggedy and start getting stiff and pokey. You can tell if a brush has high quality goat vs low quality fairly easily. Top quality goat hair gets softer and softer after each use. Low quality goat hair starts out soft and fluffy but gets stiff and scratchy over time. That’s what Rephr brushes do. Especially the face brushes. They just don’t hold up well to heavy use. The eye brushes if you can get them half off aren’t to bad. I take them when I travel so I don’t have to worry about my good ones. Same problem though. The more they are used the less soft they get. I’ve also had issues with the handles coming off. Something I’ve never had any of my other Fude brushes do. The only brushes I’ve had actually fall apart like that are Morphe brushes. Go figure. Sonia G brushes are simply better quality and only get softer with age. They are also made with higher quality materials and imo much more attractive than Rephr. Unless your on a super tight budget Rephr isn’t a brand I would recommend over Sonia G.

Thank you for this! I will 100% keep on the lookout for the wear and tear of rephr. So far, mine are holding up but theyre not too old. What was difficult about this brush review is that i realize there are the practical makeup users that want to get the job done and are not looking for anything fancy AND there are those that are real brush fans, specifically Fude. I like to call it falling into the rabbit hole of brushes. From my previous comments its clear people dont like everlong reviews. So i was trying to manage the time frame, the review duration and borth parties of the coin. Also BTS, this review was hard to film since i film around the nap times of my 1 yo. I decided to talk about functionality more. How big is the brush? whats it made off? how do i think it performs ect. I also need to stress that i did a poll and most people wanted to see this comparison. So i would have had a different approach if i wasn't comparing them in one video. I hope i also made clear that i find sonia G on a whole other level. But a regular makeup user might not care to invest in their brushes regardless of the fact they are better. Sonia G I find the best in my collection 😃. I also love how passionate its followers are and i learn so much from them. I will 100% let everyone know it my rephr brushes stop functioning. 🧡

I like Rephr brushes very much. And when I paint the face for 2 hours, I don’t want to have heavy handle weight of the brush. I’ve disappointed about Sonia G brushes. I’ve bought 4 of them, and my Master Face had uneven shape. Also I hoped that the bristles were softer. I don’t mind the design of the brush. So I always look for softer bristles. Sonia G’s prices are too high. My personal opinion

❤️❤️❤️❤️ i think it's great you found your brush brand. Also nice it's the more affordable option. i recently purchased BK Beauty brushes as well and i reach for these a lot as well. I personally think Rephr and BK is more my speed in terms of what type of user I am. Sadly, the handles of my BK brushes splintered so i am afraid to purchase any more of them. Rephr is such a good brand for their price range! No issues. So, although i find the Sonia G versatility and quality the best, but I don't reach for them the most.
