Great video and very professional. Nothing is more annoying that watching someone do a job like this when holding the camera in one hand and working with the other.

It should be a crime to make a tutorial video showing how to take everything apart with no mention of how to put it back together.

Great video…. The only thing i would say is Not to take out all the spark plugs at one time, remove and replace 1 at a time. This is so you do not have any dirt or debris fall into the other holes as you are replacing a plug.

was thinking the same thing, it's like swapping out lenses of a camera; act quick, or else you'll get dirt and junk in the one place there isn't supposed to be any!

I just changed my factory plugs after 136,000 miles. I was getting a "cylinder 3 misfire" code. I figured it was just the old plugs. After changing them, I still got a misfire code. I swapped the coils on 2 and 3 and the code moved to a "cylinder 2 misfire." I replaced the damaged coil and it runs good as new, especially with the new plugs.

Just a little more complex than on cars of old, but easy nonetheless. Very good video with some excellent pointers including tape the socket, clean around plugs before removal, check for oil, etc.

Great video! I’m changing mine today. The torque information was quite helpful as well, I’m not going to buy a torque wrench just to change my plugs. Thanks!

Thanks for the great video. I just changed my spark plugs and my car is accelerating normally again. My plugs had 103k miles on them, and they were burned to a crisp.

So easy my man!!! It’s good that your plugs don’t need to be indexed and removed a whole bunch of things and replace gasket seals to do it. (Direct fuel injection cars)*

Can you advise on gap size for a NGK plug for a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Online and videos give different size and the NGK plugs (.032) at the auto part store weren’t even close to the .044…? Help out thanks…!
@dial2fast Жыл бұрын
For NGK SILZKR7B11, gap size 0.0394-0.0433

.044 is correct

Rather than disconnecting the wires from the coils on an older vehicle could you just leave them connected and pull the coil out and change each plug separate?
@philc.9280 Жыл бұрын
I recently did this pretty easy job on my Elantra and also found out the ones sold on eBay are fake NGK iridium's. They seem to work OK but not sure what the long-term outcome is. There is a KZbin video showing the minor differences between the real and the fake ones.

If you are standing in front of your car looking at the engine, then cylinder 1 is on the left (passenger side), and cylinder 4 is on the right (driver's side).

What do you do if they gray tab breaks?
@dial2fast28 күн бұрын
It's a crappy design. If the tab breaks, you should put a tie wrap around the 2 connectors on the plug after you connect it. This will prevent the plug from coming loose.

When I broke mines on cylinder two couple years ago, I just put electrical tape around it to make sure it secures and so far it has even after about 2 years since I’ve changed them
