Looks like spud washer was missing underneath. Using silicone with the provided washer was a good idea. I hope it holds over time. Thanks for sharing!

What kind of plumbers putty did you use?I know there’s really 2 & one is not recommended for plastic or ABS if that’s what that pop up drain is made of.Thanks.

FYI the following is copied straight from Oatey's website (putty brand): 'Plumber's putty should not be used on plastics (Acrylic or ABS) because it will affect the integrity of the material and lead to product failure'.

When I trim out new sinks I do not use silicone. If there is a sink leaking like this one I put insurance (Silicone) on it.
