Instead of roofing nails I've used aluminum ring shank roofing style nails typically found as ring shank siding nails. No rust potential down the road. Some places done end up having that issue but in high humid areas I feel like potentially they do better overall, especially re entering holes from smooth shank nails. Great video! Could see too the siding is hanging and not yanked tight which I've seen others do.

How did you remove the damaged corner piece without having to do all you did with the one side of panels (the siding hanging loose) without having to touch the other side and let that hang, too? It looks like you were able to remove that corner without having to touch the adjacent panels, having them hang, too?

Good question. We removed a few nails and left the siding pieces up there just flapping loose…you need a second person to hold them or it’s too frustrating with only one person 🛠️🛠️

@@HomeRapidRepair Thanks! You're video is the best I've found! Unfortunately, it's just me. Is it possible to do with one person or just frustrating? Do you have any videos on how to remove a damaged horizontal panel on the very bottom? It looks like the damaged panel slides underneath the panel to the left of it. So would I just unsnap the one to the left of it and let it hang? Then just remove the nails on the damaged piece, replace the damaged piece, and snap it back into place? Would I have to remove the entire corner to replace the damaged panel? There are two panels and the damaged piece slides under the corner piece, too. I wish I could afford brick or at least aluminum. Also, lawn guys got my swale pipes. Two are made of what looks like PVC. I want to cut the pipes so that they aren't all chopped up. Also, a black piece of flexible hosing in the swale got chopped a bit, though I'm more concerned about the PVC. What would I use to cut them back, preferably a non-power tool, since they're expensive? I'm going to be out over $600 on Monday because they got my septic covers and pipes, too. Thanks for the quick response, too!

@@tailzzzzz You do not have to remove vinyl siding corner piece just to replace the horizontal siding pieces. You can do it with one person. I don't currently have that exact video...but there are others on KZbin that do. To cut the PVC pipes just use a hack saw or something similar, you don't need power tools for that. Good luck
