Thank you for sharing!I have experience in switching parts, like psu, logic boards or the aio cable. But I hesitated to open the panel. I habe about 4 or 5 with no backlight here, which need some treatment. Now I will go for it, after ordering the necessary spare parts. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Did the new LEDs result in a brighter display? I have two displays and ordered new LEDs strips for the one that is failing, which will take a month to arrive. I am wondering if I should just order a second set and do both.
@zoltanrakosi5246 Жыл бұрын
Nothing will change. A sign of wear and tear is that the LED strip becomes short-circuited and the protection switches it off. There will be no change in brightness or color temperature with the new set. It will just work perfectly again.

@@zoltanrakosi5246 - Just completed my repair with "new" LED strips. Pretty sure the strips were used or new take-offs, but that is something I will take up with the seller. But I can say the display is MUCH brighter. I have all three Thunderbolt displays running and the one with the allegedly new LEDs is much, brighter. Two I run at max brightness. The repaired one I have to dial down three points to get it to match the other two. It also calibrated fine to a color profile as before it was difficult to do.

My screen is going black, what could that be? It will occasionally come back. If i unplug my macbook then plug the thunderbolt back in it will come back but freeze the computer. Ive tried it on two separate macbooks, so i believe it to be the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also Amazing Video BTW! You're very brave!

Hello, Thank You for the video. At service the was diagnostic and they said that led module is broken, I'm not sure what they meant, cause before monitor fast blinking but normalized the picture with a lower level of brightness (probably 80% of max) and after some time it became just black (camera and sound work), could it be these led strips? And As I can see it's only from one side of the monitor? or should we replace it from both sides? I've noticed only one side) Thank You in advance.

Very vrey nice! How did you know you had to replace the backlight display leds? Can you provide some reference for the leds you bought? (I also have no more backlight on my thunderbolt display)
@zoltanrakosi52465 жыл бұрын
After 5 to 10 minutes of use, the backlight was turned off but the monitor was working and the display was on. Backlight only works when the power plug is pulled out and plugged in again. If I reduced the brightness, it will not turn off. Because of the LEDs' warming up, they have been shut down and protection has turned off the entire backlight. That's why it had to be replaced. www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-LED-strip-For-Apple-27-laptop-LM270WQ1-SDC2-M270WQ1-SDA2-SDB1-SDE3-SDE5/123412259079?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

I will try to repair the screen as soon as I receive the leds, thanks again Zoltán!

How can one test if its the led's vs some other issue?
@zoltanrakosi5246 Жыл бұрын
if the led is bad, the monitor turns off after a few minutes of use. And the new LED is after replacement. I still don't use the monitor in the video and it washes flawlessly.
@nico75464 жыл бұрын
hallo sehr gute video meine frage wo kann ich backleit kaufen? mfg,
I think the real issue with these monitors is figuring out what the hell is wrong with them. Mine can work perfectly for about 30 minutes before blanking off. So is at the display?, is it the power supply?, and besides that, I've never got the speakers to work. I bought a second-hand unit that looks absolutely pristine, not a scratch, all the rubber on the plugs is smooth it looks brand new out of the package yet I can't get it to work for more than 30 minutes.

I also tried the Male 2 Male Apple Thunderbolt cable, it had zero effect.
@zoltanrakosi5246 Жыл бұрын
Yes. this was also the problem. if you lower the brightness, it will last longer. The LEDs overheat and the monitor protection switches off the LEDs. the leds are getting old. based on the video, if you replace it, it will work properly again. I still use this monitor that is in the video. in your other monitor, with a high probability, it will work again by replacing the coupled cable!
