Good job 😁 I did the same a month ago. The tiny drops of glue they used provide no extra water resistance and a drop/fall could break that glue bond so no way they can prove you removed it unless of course they see the video 😁 The glue only minimally prevents twisting. The water resistance is from the o-ring in the cover. The AMagisn filters have very poor water resistance as the glass is held on with really poor double sided tape. I took one apart on my channel and did a bunch of water tests. Some lasted 40 minutes and some leaked immediately. For rain and as a replacement for a broken oem cover they are fine but DO NOT use them without a dive case under water.

If you removed the lens cover, placed the Polarizing lens on, then stuck it inside the waterproof case, would that still keep it waterproof? ....Asking for a friend?
@RyanWenner10 ай бұрын
I'm wondering if it's 'non removable' because of the lack of internal sealing against humidity. I believe gopros are still waterproof without the lens filter and this prevents moisture / humidity from getting between the lens elements and causing fogging. You only have to worry about moisture between the front of the lens and the removable filter. I wonder if the Ace Pro isn't similarly sealed. and removing the square filter too many times or in the wrong environment could cause fogging.

No it has a o-ring, the glue is literally 2 tiny dabs of glue to weakly prevent it being removed without a bit of extra leverage.

Thanks for showing this and risking your warranty. Can you also check if the aMagisn lenses are water resistant?
@BassManStrikes11 ай бұрын
They are not. I did this all a month ago and did water tests and pulled one of the filters and the glass is held on with double sided tape.

it is SO removable that i leaks! my ace pro suffers from condensation under the lens cover. how can that work at 10m dive depth? thanks for the lens removal demo.

Curious, do you still get light streaks when pointing at lights when you remove the lens?

Am I mistaking when I say it’s just a lens cover and not the actual lens? Also, I wonder if the one time free replacement is voided if you do this yourself? (New I360 AP owner.)
@BassManStrikes11 ай бұрын
No unless you make a video like this.... There are only 2 small drops of glue that are there simple to make it seem like it's non removable. If you dropped the camera and it landed on the corner of the lens cover it could break the glue. They did this to get it to market because of most likely a patent licensing issue. The glue ONLY makes twisting it slightly harder and provides NO additional water resistance as that's provided by the o-ring in the lens cover. And actually not removing it and going in salt water is going to cause build up inside the lens cover cavity because it's actually meant to be removed.

Hola. Nos puede decir si al hacer este cambio, la cámara aún resiste los 10 metros bajo el agua? Saludos desde El Salvador.

Sorry, I don’t think I’ve ever been that far underwater. I’d have no way to know. The most this camera has seen is being caught in some rain and it held up. I’ve not completely submerged it.

Amazing, thanks for sharing!!! By the way where did you buy those add-on filters from? I'd be interested in the CPL and hope some day someone makes a close-up focus one as well. Cheers and thanks again😃

@Cameraflyer don't call people idiots you have 0 clue what's going on and can't see reality with your own 2 beady eyes.... the way they glued it provides 0 additional water resistance....it's only to prevent opening for a patent issue most likely so they could go to market on time.....don't be so dense and stupid....
