I've done this numerous times on my 2004 Navigator 4x4. I believe you did a lot of extra steps that where not needed. I did not have to touch anything brake, axle, vacuum line or sway bar related. I jack the entire front up so both front wheels are fully extended. This gets rid of sway bar issues. I only remove the upper ball joint nut and steering ball joint nut. This allows the spindle to swing out of the way. I use a couple of large crescent wrenches on the big lower nut. One wrench gets wedged into a fixed position, the other wrench gets a pipe extension for more leverage. I always press downward so I can use my body weight if possible. I'm glad you got the lower control arm to about ride height before tightening. Not everyone knows to do that. 👍

Thanks for the comment, hopefully others read it so they can decide which way to try. I had a 2001 nav that I replaced air bags for coils and didn't touch brakes either so it can be done as you say.

I have a 2015 lincoln and it seems I do have to remove everything he did in the video

@JasonWW2000 Hahaha I hear you on that one. I am going to change all 4 of mine and I am going to put the regular ones on there where I don't need the CCD control

@@ricardoscale1285 I believe the determining factor as to whether you have to remove lots of extra parts, is if you can get the lower shock mount out of the lower A arm pocket. If you can get the lower control arm down enough, then you don't have to take off extra parts. Or you could install a spring compressor to allow the shock to compress slightly. That might allow it to come out of the pocket. Prying down on the upper or lower control arm can also help get the shock out of the pocket. It can be a little tricky. I have to put a pry tool under the shock mount and pry it up and the arm down.

so only the front are air suspension not the front? asking because my Expediton rides smooth but when I hit dips or speed bumps it hits pretty hard on the front tires

Only rear has air suspension on mine

On my year it only has air in rear, front were always struts
