@Okie-Tom5 жыл бұрын
Very good Jim! One thing I would have liked for you to check was when you pressed the Pistons back in the calipers sometimes it overfills the master cylinder with brake fluid, and it can cause brake fluid spillage. Have a good one Jim. Tom
@davidpowell3347 Жыл бұрын
Do some people open the bleeder a little bit so some of the brake fluid comes out when the piston moves back,then when the job is about finished some fresh new fluid can be put into the master cylinder reservoir? Is the brake fluid inside the caliper dirtier than the rest of the system?
@MikeSmith-nu9wt Жыл бұрын
@davidpowell3347 not worth it, air could possible get in there if it's not done correctly , let the master over flow a little it won't bother it , sometimes if I remember I'll take the cap off , for fear of damaging the cap rubber seal , but I never had a problem with one getting damaged , it's rare .. and I've done it everyway you can think of ..

I was just watching your video about you changing out the rear brakes on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I noticed when you removed the rotor the parking brake shoes were completely destroyed from normal use however you never mentioned them or replaced them in the video. The shoes are behind the axle and inside the rotor. (Pad in a Hat) Why not replace them when you have the rotor off?
@jimthecarguy4 жыл бұрын
Actually the shoes were in good condition. The parking brake shoes are thinner than normal brakes. Thanks for your input.
