Nah not really. Putting it on is easy, clean it, flux it, solder a couple corners in place than lay the solder long ways along ic, use chisel tip and heat as many legs as you can, flow solder. You can re flux and re flow it out if you miss something. Im no expert but I have done a few of these. Im sure theres always someone that knows more but my experience getting them off is the hard part with just a normal iron. I like to heat up the solder wick and use it as a heat sync assiming i dont have a hot air station to use.
