Replace the Hinges on a UPVC window

Removing the glass makes it alot lighter and then its a 1 man job. In turn alot easier. The internal trim is easy to remove around the glass .

Hi, thanks for your comment, that is a really good point we were concerned that the plastic might crack as it was an old window and we may not get an identical replacement. It's a good point you make though! 👍

@RealDIYbuild I did a window virtually identical to yours. The plastic slider had snapped on the runner of the hinge. Virtually impossible to do as a 1 man job as its so heavy with the glass intact. I do realise they go very brittle over time though 👍

Hi, thanks for your comment, all you need to do is google a local UPVC window manufacturer and you can buy a new double glazed unit. Then you can fit the glass as shown in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/oajMgKKGgs-dl7M You can remove beading to get the old glass out and just replace the new one.
