Earlier this year I needed a smaller diameter water pump pulley to get the temps down on my FE. CVF had what I needed and even though they do not have a retail showroom they allowed me to pick it up since I live close to their facility. The pulley was nicer than anything I've ever gotten from March and at a better price. They have everything in black also.

I bought a CVF racing scratch and dent underdriven water pump pulley for my FE and it had this tiny little scratch across the front where the fan mounting hub bolts up against it and it's not even visible. That thing fit perfect and totally cured my overheating at idle issue. Just bought a mid mount 351w alternator bracket setup that was also a scratch and dent hope that one works out well.

Proper alternator torque is 2 Ugga Duggas, I haven’t had one come apart yet. Key word “yet” 😂 looks like a nice kit!! If you don’t have the belt aligned perfectly, it’ll dang sure fight ya.

I've had this kit on my '66 Fairlane 289 for a couple of years. I found it, wanting to keep my standard rotation water pump and timing chain cover, and as far as I know this is the only serpentine system which does that. The other advantages of the kit: 1) Moves the AC compressor to the passenger side. 2) Lets you run a high amp alternator which causes V-belts to squeal. 3) I was able to also retain my mechanical fuel pump. 4) The guys at CVF were great to work with. 5) It looks fantastic. Disadvantages are: 1) You have to run a longer, bigger power cable from alternator to solenoid as was pointed out. 2) The alternator is a GM CS-130 style, but the remote sense and warning light connections do not function which was a major disappointment. Fortunately I already had a volt meter. 3) You will have to get creative with the AC hoses, but it does clean up the engine compartment. 4) Finally, the belt supplied was too short, but we were able to find a belt listed for a supercharged Corvette which was the correct length. I wanted to post a photo of my setup, but couldn't find a way.

The '86-'91 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis used a std rotation serpentine system. AC compressor & smog pump use a separate belt than remainder of system, alt and compressor switch sides. imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/3092/XsH0Cm.png

I used their wraptor kit on my 408 build in my 68. It’s an awesome kit. The only issue I ran into was I had ordered a kit for an aftermarket damper and the crank hub adapter spacing was off. I gave cvf a call and learned that my aftermarket damper used factory measurements. The guys at CVF said that they had seen that before and shipped me the correct hub adapter to get me sorted. He said to try it out to make sure all was well and then ship the other one back and we’d be square!

I installed CVS performance kit called the beast on my 68 Continental 460 with Ford 3G alternator and saginaw PS pump. I love it works great .And I can add an AC bracket if I want.

Just do your research I had to buy a new water pump 2 times because did not realize the kit I had purchased causes the water pump direction to change so stock pump didn’t work. Had to pull every thing back off and redo it all. Pain in the ass to install too. But looks damn good.

Those are all really spiffy and shiny parts, but what do you do in ten years when something breaks down and you are far from home- will you be able to get replacement parts to bring it back to life?? It seems to me that the further you get from OEM, the more trouble you are going to have.

All the parts are made with readily available bearings. The compressor, alt and power steering are all over the counter parts.

this should eliminate belt problems at high RPMs, but I sure would hate for an alternator to fail ... it would make for an interesting roadside fix!!! ;)

The biggest problem with the original setup was the belt for the power steering was not also supposed to drive the AC. The AC should have its own belt and tensioner. It's meant to line up with a different groove on the crank. I agree with the concerns with going too far from stock. I intend to convert mine to a serpentine belt but I plan to use the hardware from a later truck that had it from the factory.

I really don't see a downside to the CVF system. All the bearing assemblies are replaceable, the tensioner is replaceable.
