Right on fella.. we’ll done .. like you say after taking it apart for the first time an keeping them anti seized makes for a easy come apart next time .. I used to have the same truck as yours an I remember doing that job .. the first time was awfull as it was all seized but I anti seized an then after that good to go .. but now I have the 2 wheel drive an don’t have to worry about it . An I don’t obviously plow anymore so it’s not missed .. I hardly drive my truck I winter cause my health condition is worse in winter so I don’t get too far so my 2002 truck I have now is only got 85 thousand original miles on it 👍 anyways I always enjoy your videos thanks man cheers

Good video.. just a trick I've learned. SKIP THE AXLE CASTLE NUT. just leave the hub attached to the stub end of the axle joint... Saves a bit of hard work and skips the retorque of the axle nut to 190ftlbs.... most people aren't capable of RETORQUEING TO THE SPEC.

The axle nut wasn’t 1 1/16th, Mine ended up being 1 11/16

Are the axles both the same size for each side passenger side and driver side? I need to replace both front axles on my father's 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 sport edition with the 5.9. And it looks like the axles could be different lengths but I'm not sure. Any help will be helpful.

The axles shafts are different lengths and styles. U-joints are the same the passenger side axle is a two piece design

Hey iv got a question about whitey so its a gas 318 5.2? and you can push a lot of power out of it cause i was told you cant push a lot of power out of them befor you hit a wall so what did you do cause i have a dakota with a 5.2 i want to build but im afraid if i should go with 5.2 or try to get a 5.9 or if you thing a 5.2 would be just fine?

This is a stock 5.2 318 magnum yes gas but e85. Head studs and cams all that’s done to the motor and 15psi of boost and 50 shot of nitrous. She handles it like a tank

Those 3 hub bolts are very difficult to find. Dont lose or brake any.

That’s def to much even for both sides. It pays 3.9hrs to do both front axle u-joints and that’s all data time. So he’s def ripping you off. So it’s about 2 hrs a side

In theory what would happen if i didnt replace the axle? I know itll mess up the gears but if they're already messed up like couldnt I just send it?
