Thank you! Love your humor too. After all that hard work digging out the pipe, it was the perfect time to install "Easy Change Yard Hydrant" casing so you never have to dig it out again if something fails.

Terrific program. I am far past the age at which men operate shovels, and have small children around, but I found your video very enjoyable. Your droll, New England wit adds a quality missing in most other videos of this type. Also appreciate the moments of hard-earned wisdom that you shared. More videos, please.

Man, that is brutal to have to dig that out and redo it. I'm hoping I can repair mine without digging.

Yellow caution tape is recommended for placing above the power lines. You put it a few inches above so the digger hits it first.

Excellent video. Thanks so much. I was trying to see the brand and part number for the hydrant you used. Could you let me know?

I would have liked to have known how that subterranean pipe got bent in the first place and what you are doing to prevent that same insult from recurring. Good job on the video.

Thank you enjoy your work, one thing how long was the hydrant? I need to do same thanks again.

i was able to unscrew my hydrant and replace it with out digging is up , worth a try for folks because if it doesn't work you just end up digging it up ..

In my case I can't shut the water off, it's from a well from across the road that I have no access to.

7:10 Romex electrical wire should not directly buried. Having the wrong wire close close to a metal pipe is very dangerous. There is a good chance that wire could electricity the hydrant and kill someone. You should definitely not be touching the wire as there could be a tear in the insulation from being buried.

Well said Eric, UF wire for direct burial only and cover it, mark it and protect it. Who ever installed that lash-up was setting someone up for electrocution.

Why didn't you show connecting the hydrant to the the hose. Is it perhaps because you disconnected the elbow, then connected the elbow to the hose, then connected the hydrant to the elbow? It's not easy connecting the barbed end to the hose when you have a heavy hydrant connected to it.

have three of those same blue hydrants , also 5 iowa hydrants. iowa hyds are ten times better.
