Replacing a redneck engineered fuel shutoff valve on a Ford 3000 tractor.

I had to undo a little redneck rigging on my Ford 3000 tractor. The fuel shutoff valve needed replaced.

What could possibly cause a Ford 3000 diesel engine to run away? Had to put a plastic trash bag over the air cleaner to shut it off. This didn't actually happen to me it happened to a friend.

what year model is the tractor ??

I’m actually not sure which year this one was built. I believe this one was built state side. I have another Ford 3000 that was built in Europe.
