You left out the part where you have to buy a kit to extract the broken retaining screw in the differential cross shaft before you can pull the C-clip and pull the axle. Nice video of the last steps. Doing it right with proper driving tools.
@willmills13704 жыл бұрын
Yup, mine broke too. Got the extractor kit from Summit Racing. Yukon Gear and Axle makes it but doesn't sell it to the public. I watched CVSahara his video on KZbin on replacing that dam Pinion Retaining bolt, I bought two more from Autoplicity for my '79 Trans Am, it came in yesterday. Ain't got nothing else to do with this COVID 19 lock down.

How can I tell it`s a 7.5" or 7.625 inch? I have this 1999 pontiac firebird trans am v8 convertible. I had some differential issues and ordered bearings for 7.6". Problems! I think it`s 7.5" . What is the difference and where can I find the right number 7.5" or 7.6"...?

the 7.5.or 7.6 10 bolt has sharp horns on the bottom rear diff casting . the 8,5 has a square casting at rear housing .

Does the gear oil lubricate that bearing too? I’m not a mechanic.
