In this episode we watch Doug and Steve fix the bent a-arm from the river ride carnage. We also find out how to do a 1 step hood removal on a X3, it's pretty simple!

Great video guys, I like that y'all show that you work on the machines yourselves when they break. Not everyone can pay to have dealerships or mechanics to fix them. I went eBay and ordered a CanAm mechanics repair manual CD and use it a lot or you can get the book

Have to replace some bushings on my canned ham. Remembered this video from way back when I had a rzr still. figured I’d watch it again see if there was any tricks to pulling the arms off. Looks straight forward. Go back to putting the intros in all the vids. I don’t know how to say it properly but it just adds a “good vibe” right at the start.

That is a major weak spot on the lower a- arms. I bent mine at Glamis. I was one of 3 Can AMs, in one weekend, to have that problem. People are adding gussets. I replaced mine with some after market, stronger arms. It will happen again.

JP, those who are not consumed by the tribalism, walk around covered from head to toe with cheerleader swag of one brand, know that each machine has its advantages. Polaris Turbo and X3 are the tops machines this year and next year. The new dynamix is top of its class on handling, it is shorter and more maneuverable than the x3. The non dynamix is still beating the x3 in the desert. which s supposed to be where the XRS is king. Maybe driver mods are needed? The X3 is the new shiney for those who go out to eat and look at another persons plate, see how much they are liking their food and wish they had gotten that.. X3 is intresting with its longer wheel base, good for climbing, when the front diff will help you .

Craig Moreira problem is, those arms are clearly designed as a sacrificial part. You gusset the arms thus strenthening them and then the frame takes the force of the next hit.

Hay guys question for ya, does it look like there's enough room on the plastic to rotate the front shocks 180 degrees so that the fox shocks cylinder is facing out? 2 reasons I ask is 1 it would look sweet and 2 possibly increase air flow next to the fan on the radiator.
@canamx3americanflag7886 жыл бұрын
I did that on my X3. It also keeps the heat from the radiator of the reservoirs.

I woulda probably went with aftermarket arms that were alittle beefier. Those look pretty weak bud. Gonna be changing those a bunch.
@c.s.37466 жыл бұрын
They did mention that Can-AM designed that spot to be the weak point to prevent tweaking the frame. You put a much beefier one on, that won't be the case anymore. Now whether it needs to have a weak spot, only the engineers know.
@425j16 жыл бұрын
Being single shear yea youd have to wonder but S3 is building beefier ones and the guys on the forums have been having them tweak very often. Theres even a thread discussing them.

@SXSBlog6 жыл бұрын
Certainly "engineered" into the part.
@ohnonotthatguy14656 жыл бұрын
I get engineering a weak link to save frame damage, but the frame tends to get damaged if you roll. At 172 hp and damn near 90 mph think maybe I will go with stronger arm. Have you guys talked to any of the after market arm guys about replacement lower arm?

Hmf sells a $117 gusset kit. Why would you not invest in that. Also why tear the front clip off of your doing the lower. Extra unnecessary steps....
@SXSBlog6 жыл бұрын
If you watched the video you would have seen that the front bulkhead is connected to the upper and lower control arms so pulling the front clip allows for removal of the bulkhead which allows for the removal of the lower arms.
@sanddan5256 жыл бұрын
Can we get more details on the YXZ bent frame? When I saw that video it was the first thing that came to mind knowing the front frame is a weak spot. I'm in the process of adding a Teixeira reinforcement kit for just that reason.

Wasn't impressed. Had to watch a different channel. Half the time, more info. Having said that, your channel is all about horsepower. I need stronger suspension mounts for my '19 X3 RC turbo R. I don't need more hp. I need to keep from breaking stuff. Was going to upgrade my A arms but decided that was a bad idea. I'd rather bend them than my frame. I ride way rougher stuff than you. I need stronger parts. (Frame mounts, not suspension). I can't afford to build a full chrome moly chassis. Expand a bit please?
