I have a 60 series. When I go down hill with a load I have to use the engine brake. I see black smoke out the exhaust stack. I ran it with the computer and no engine codes come up?? Have you experienced any symptoms like this? I'm out of South Gate.

I have the same engine 12.7 detroit 60s 515hp we pull heavy load to the port sweet potatoes shouldn't a 515 hp engine pull stronger seen like it losing power trying to reach 60mph on flat line do all turbos make that whistling sounds because I can badly here it

I have intake manifold pressure to high engine code. Will this help? I struggle to go over 70. I have bad fuel mileage and low pull power on the last gears. No check engine lights just that code. Please Vic. Idk what to do. Mechs can’t figure my problem out. Thanks

try to take it to a shop and have them open that truck up,if you can only go 70,that means the tuck is governed,best of luck

Question Vic , when the boost sensor is clogged up and engine not operating normal , does that throws a code ? I have Detroit 60 as well and it’s running really rough and it’s barely boosting and fuel Mileage is horrible, but I’m not getting no codes for any of that , I’m thinking about cleaning the egr and replacing boost sensor all together.

yeah replacing all that will help,but the oil has alot to do with all that,remember DELVAC oil is recommended for that engine,just replace things on that engine little by little,me personally i love this engine,i have a dd13 and dd15,but my seriuos 60 is the bomb,best of luck

I have Detroit 60s sputtering while idling and sputtering while in operation also change fuel filters both of them added injectors cleaner clean the egr and throttle valve one code is the crank sensor tsr sensor could that be my problem

I was looking for your video when you were talking about too much or too little pressure before the turbine. I have code P1723 on my paccar mx13. 3 Kenworth dealerships could not fix it. $10,000 later it is still causing a derate.

Victor I see you change lot of parts in your truck expensive, the DD15 serie 60 it is not a really a motor for owners operators, better suited for fleet company. Good luck Victor you really make the best of a worst situation ( frightliners truck the new ones better to avoid
