Nice welds doesn't mean that it's a good weld. They started in the middle of the arm and left a area which they filled up later. I'm not a expert in welding but I would have started from the outside and even welded to it so that I can start from the outside and go with the weld material in the V

Love how they are double and tripple checking every line, and using the original bolt to check fit. Guess if you have no premade jigs you have to constantly check what you are doing. I would be a little bit worried about slag inclusion, though.

They need to make better than 2.12 a day , so they can buy safety equipment ,boots, glasses , gloves, welding hoods, hard hats, face sheald Or make the company buy it . I think they need to join a union so the union can fight for them. There are so many people working like that , that it is normal for them, if you complain there is no job for you. Poor guys😞

Bushings would have saved the eye from such damage in the first place, once the bucket flanges are wallowed they must be refitted to larger bushing or replaced.
