Great video!...I just had all 4 tires rotated on my 2016 Avalon last week and they warped my rotors no doubt when using the air ratchet. I've read up on it and it's a common mistake that damages the rotors. Anyway, I replaced the rear rotors and pads 2 days and now I'm about to replace the front so i wanted to watch another video regarding the front brakes. I have a few suggestions for you to add/edit in this video in the form of notes or voice overs for anyone else watching / reading in the future. I've seen other KZbinrs do this. 1. Place Jack Stands under your car for your safety and to protect your vehicle from any damage that might occur if your hydraulic floor jack falls, because they do, as a Journeyman Millwright, I've seen it and it isn't pretty. 2. Screw a couple of lugnuts on your stud bolts to limit how hard and fast your rotor pops out of its stuck position so they don't damage the threads on your 5 stud bolts which if damaged could lead to cross threading later when mounting the tires and seizing up, which leads to big problems. 3. Use 8mm x 1.5 bolts as "jack bolts" to press the old rotors out of its stuck position verses wacking on it with a beater, which could lead to damaging other nearby components and/ or injury. There are two small bolt holes in the middle of the rotor inside the 5 stud bolts. 4. Grease the two slide pins where the 14mm bolts attach. 5. You should also discuss the torque specs as well as the torque "star" pattern when mounting your tire back on. Most people don't know that and the importance. These are very helpful to the many novices looking to you for help. Take care, Richard

You don't seem to clean or grease anything. Why?

Is the procedure the same for the rear rotors and pads?

Nice job. Going to do this on a 2017 Avalon.

Brother you’re pretty cold!!!! I have the exact same car.since COVID I’ve become a diy KZbin mechanic. I’ve never done brakes in my life! This will be my first time, so I apologize in advance for the many questions. First and foremost thank you for taking the time to share this nugget of knowledge. • Is that brake fluid dripping down? If so will I need to add and bleed? • If I have a C clamp where would I apply it in regards to the pads? • Can this process be applied to the rear pads and rotors as well. • Should any brake dressing be applied. May Jehovah bless you and yours in Jesus’s name. Thank you Sir.

1.No should not need to add any brake fluid It’s coming out because the customer added some because it was low only due low pads 2. Put one old pad on the caliper by the circle piston then use the c clamp to push it in with the old brake pad so you won’t ruin the piston 3. Yes same Procedure in the rear for most Avalon’s 4. Use brake grease that is for brakes that they sell at part store

Don't you think, you should've greased, both' of those slider pins, while you had that all apart ? 🤔🛠

why didn't he bleed the lines ?

You dont torque the bolts?

Did you see that you busted the caliper piston seal by pushing the piston in that way? Brake fluid was pouring out of the caliper/piston seal. I don't get why people do this, I don't get why people don't loosen up the bleeder screw and then push the piston back in. It's so easy. There's little to no effort when doing it this way, plus the old, nasty fluid doesn't get pushed back into the system. It gets pushed OUT....

If you look very closely, you can see that’s coming from the Brake reservoir, not the caliber seal, I’ve been doing this for like 15 years and I’ve never bust a caliper sealed

@@Seemoneycomerecords Ok gotcha. But I still crack the bleeder screw and either catch it in a pan or put a hose on it. Yeah it takes an extra 60 seconds but I feel it’s the right way
