@SmackeysGarage overall, they usually aren't. For the most part, they're pretty reliable as long as you maintain them properly. Except for Mercury, that is. Actually, maybe they're not bad anymore, I really don't know. But when I bought this boat I had always been a Johnson fan. Well they weren't in business anymore so I was going to go with the Mercury. The dealer asked me how often I wanted it in the shop? So Yamaha it was. Lol
