Replacing Geberit 280 and 250 Twico 1 and Twico 2 with the new 290 valve

The new Geberit 290 valve is a replacement for the popular Twico 1 and Twico 2 valves which are now being phased out. Please note, the full and half flush buttons are supposed to go down together. The difference is that the half flush button will go down a little further causing only half the water to flush (provided you have set the flush as described in the video).

It's worth noting that the blue circular height locking ring half way down must be fully rotated and click into the lock position, otherwise it will impede the flush mechanism. Even a couple of millimetres out of full lock will do it. It's not always easy to see that you've done this when working in tight cisterns when you can only turn it with your finger tips.

Great demonstration, and managed re fit the 290 valve into my existing 280 basket with ease. However, the cistern is not refilling after flushing, instead the water is overflowing into the pan. Any ideas? It is my first attempt at this kind of thing, so I may have done something really stupid! Thanks for your help.
