Great video thanks! I have one question, do we need to do anything with the previous rain sensor wires? With the new panel installed, does it bypass the physical rain sensor automatically?

I have the original Hunter Pro-C so swapping just the face plate is not an option. Can I replace my pre-2014 Pro-C with something like a new Hunter Pro-HC controller?

Absolutely. Easy DIY project. I recommend taking a picture of the wiring inside your existing Pro-C, then wire it back exactly the same way with your new controller. Done!

Great video - thanks. Just asking for some clarity and cost savings. Wouldn't if be more cost effective to replace the whole controller with the Hydrawise HC1200M? $150 (HC1200M) vs $212 for the retro fit kit (HPC-FP)?

Yes, this is likely true. For DIY, replacing the panel is easier. For service professionals, contractors, and advanced users, replacing the controller may be the better choice.

From the Home Screen click Settings and then Wireless Settings. If you don’t see your network make sure you are in range, and your wireless is 2.4g. Take a look at page #27 here: www.hunterindustries.com/sites/default/files/rc-081-qg-hcc-web.pdf

I ordered the WiFi faceplate and it won’t turn on. It turned on once and then never turned on again. The new faceplate had many more pins for the plug than the original faceplate does.

Is the date code of your controller after March 2014? If not, the controller is not compatible. Another way to check is to check the color of the old faceplate buttons; they should all be blue. If your controller is compatible, I recommend testing the voltage from the transformer - you should have between 24-27vAC.

@@mas3ymd correct. Your controller predates the compatible version. Replace it with a Hydrawise or any controller of your choice! Unfortunately, no need for the faceplate you purchased.
