I'm surprise you did not mention anything about the fan filter for the hybrid battery, needs to be cleaned to cool the battery,

Looks like the car lasted you a while. I just got the triangle of death on my 2014 and was thinking of buying the hybrid battery from the Toyota dealer (brand new) vs the reconditioned version. I would still install it myself like you did. If you had to do it over again would you get another reconditioned battery or buy brand new? Thanks for the video!

Yeah sometimes they last you more then what they say but I'm ready to trade in to a newer one. I don't know if I would change the battery more then once , but hey you never know depends on the budget 😉

Is this called the Hybrid System, or Battery System? Do You know what does the Prius System look like, and is the Prius Hybrid System more difficult to replace, and the approximate cost? Thank You so much! We're Retiree's in our 70s and barely scraping by in the San Diego area, and Need our Vehicle...I can perform most Maintenance, even with a disabled Back, because we have No Other Choice, since i caught the Dealer trying to rip us off when our Head Gasket/or Head started to fail, and they wanted $6000.+ but i fixed with an $80.Dollar Bottle of Blue Devil, which has saved our life about 6-Months ago and it has ran like a Champ ever since! But Now the Hybrid System is having issues in our 150,000mi 2010 Prius? yet the original batteries appeared to to working quite well?? And unfortunately we have No Saving(persay) and would be Devastated if we lost our Vehicle! How can i find a truly reputable dealer in "New or After Market" Hybrid Systems? Is there a significant difference between New and Aftermarket systems?

Yes Prius is much easier and cheaper there are more much more Prius hybrid battery system then any other cars . I bought it for $2000 free shipping and installed it my self it's not easy to install heavy and kind of annoying to, but yeah just search for Prius hybrid battery system and you will see there some refurbished Wich it does the job just like the new one and it's much cheaper should be around $800-1300 I dont know now because of the pandemic how they going . How is the replaced hybrid battery holding up for you? The hybrid system stops working on my 2014 toyota avalon and i need a new hybrid battery. Upon my research I found a rebuild one online from that company name batterfly. And they are only $1250 and they have a special at $250 off so that makes it only $1000 for the battery. Im really skeptical about the price

Did you test the battery modules to determine which one(s) are bad? Or you are convinced they’re mostly bad and decided to replace the whole unit and save time for the long haul? Thanks, it great to know there’s a guide to follow and work on one’s Toyota hybrid should there’s a need for it. I have a 2008 Camry hybrid 206k+ miles still running strong hopefully no battery failure anytime soon 🤞but it’s your video is backup just in case😉

My personal research is cars that are daily used will never have a problem. It's the cars that are parked for a very long time that get these issues.

@@SmileysYT my new only 40000kms driven toyota crown hybrid(that was imported from Japan) was parked for 6 months straight without turning it on atleast once. Now i'm getting all types of errors like " check engine light, VSC off, TRC off, triangle of death and dynamic Radar cruise failure. Sport, Norm, Eco modes failure and also safety features like PCS and ICS disabled.

I don't really know how many miles but I drove alot back to back from Atlanta to New York City with that battery and then I Changed it after awhile

I got mine like 125k and I was just resetting for a while till I see what I was going to do. I tried to see if I could just change the cells but it was so much hassle to see which ones were bad I tried 2 times I opened up 2 times just couldn't find which one was bad so one of my friends is a mechanic said to change it , by a new one so that's what I did so its working fine. Thanks God
