Replacing Ignition Coil Packs and Spark Plugs on GX470

How to remove and replace the ignition coil packs and spark plugs on a 2005 Lexus GX470. Codes P0301 P0302 P0303 P0304 P0305 P0306 P0307 P0308 with Bluetooth OBD2 Reader.

Really good video - "make sure to take your time" is the best advice here. I actually had my spark plugs replaced at 75,000 miles on my GX and a year or so later I started getting misfires on cylinder 8. Really weird - moved the coil-pack to Cyl 1 and the misfire moved with it. Got a new coil-pack and a set of new plugs - all 7 plugs looked really good but the one on cylinder 8 was actually never replaced - it had the original markings for equipment that came with the car brand new (this yellow marking on the side). So even pros can miss something - take it slow and take your time.

Removing the air filter box is very helpful when changing out plugs and coils on the passenger side

Thanks for the video! Torque wrenches should be stored at the zero mark by the way (or 10 or whatever depending on the particular wrench).

I have found it is difficult to remove the electric clip from the ignition coil. What is the trick?

The key ingredient is fingertip pain. Jokes aside, you really just have to press that clip release in as best and as hard as you can and give some wiggles back and forth (not so much as to break it).

You ever see badly corroded 10mm coilpack bolts that crumble? Looking for tips and tricks. May try smaller sockets and penetrating fluid before cutting them off. I have new stainless fasteners waiting
