Replacing ignition switch without a kee on a 1999-2003 Toyota Sienna

This video saved me hundreds of dollars. I tried to drill out the face like you did at first, it didn't work. I towed it to my Auto shop and they said it would be $700 and would take a week. I saw this and drilled the pin out and that was it. Thanks!!!

$55 out of pocket fix. 2019 2002 Sienna, I went to the dealer and got a written estimate which included part numbers & Labor $300.00 Went to Ebay ordered the part...$55 included shipping. Watched a weeks worth of KZbin to included all the “RECOMMENDED” ones... ( THANK YOU KZbin) I got the part by Fed-X, walked out to the car and 5 minutes later .... I was done! Only tool required was a ice pick with a 1/2” 90 degree bend on the end! Easy ! Saved $250.00’s And that is why I LOVE MY TOYOTA!

@@davehimlin2374 no he definitely had a key to turn cylinder to acc position to be able to use his magical 90 degree pick to probe the steel pin

Couldn't you get the key code from one of the front door keyholes, get a key cut, and use it to remove the cylinder? Only asking if it's possible to do this so I can attempt it when I go to a nearby pick a part yard

but my key has the immobilizer key. i did take out the old ignition cylinder lock, but now i have a problem with starting it because alarm goes off and it need the old key to unlock it. i lost my keys. ugh!

When I attempted to purchase the ignition switch- it look short and round without the longer pointed tip

How hard was it to turn the inside tab inside the cylinder to the ACC position? What's the secret. It's not turning to the ACC position for me.

@@waliedsalaitah1092 I ended up drilling down the internal button that keeps the switch body in place in order to slip it out and install the new one. Good luck.

Before changing the cylinder, try another key because the old key can be worn out (happened to me)

thats not an ignition switch. its an ignition cylinder lock. whole nother matter. FYI.
