Years ago, I made an electrolysis device to make hydrogen from water. I hooked it up to an old ford pickup truck, with worn rings and low compression, and probably a little gasoline in the oil. After about a minute of cranking the starter, enough hydrogen leaked into the crankcase that it backfired and peeled the oil pan open like a banana, blew burning oil all over the driveway, caught my whole truck afire and burned it down to bare metal. I told the fire dept that I didn't know what happened, it just backfired and burst into flames. I'm lucky it wasn't parked in my garage at the time.

Not correct. An engine does run really well without any oil at all. However, if you run an engine with no oil pressure, the bearings very soon give in ! The valve train is not in itself relying on oil for any functionality, and it does not "collapse". But the camshaft does not like to run dry.

Gas in the crankcase is common with lawnmower engines. That happens when the float needle valve gets stuck open and gas from the gas tank drains through the cylinder down to the oil.I found out that as I checked the oil level before mowing the lawn.A half a tank of gas end up mixed in the oil.

I'm a US piston engine airplane tech. I've never seen this system installed but have been tested on it. In arctic climates some piston engine airplanes are equipped with a system that injects raw fuel into the crankcase at shut down. The engine is allowed to run long enough to mix the oil and gas. This results in a much thinner fluid in the case at cold start up, and the fuel evaporates as the engine warms. Cheers guys. I love your style.

It's an old school trick with old tractors (thing Ford N series, etc) that if it was incredibly cold out and your engine was frozen, you start a small fire under the engine to thaw it. Of course apart from burning my rig down i'd be wary of thermal shock, leading to a cracked block.. Of course those old timers would just hook the battery to a welding rod and just close the crack lol

If you would have disconnected the pcv valve the engine wouldn't have flooded and it would run. Your problem was that the already warm engine vaporized the fuel and pushed the fumes into the intake causing a rich fuel mixture. Disconnecting any vacuum lines that ran from the crankcase to the intake would have eliminated the no start problem.

What then? They’re putting the car on fire on purpose. I don’t really see what can go “wrong” when doing that. Mud doesn’t burn. He even had the fire brigade there.

The oil will not burn away in one second. The engine fires too quickly to go through the layer of oil right away. It will help for a minute or so. Enough time to get the RPM’s up to keep the engine going.

My dad's car had the fuel pump rupture and fill the engine with oil so full it was running out the breather on the valve covers. He never knew it until , it wouldn't start the next morning. He got it towed to the garage and they freaked out how much gas was in there. It was a 460 ci Ford.

We had a John Deere tractor that filled up with gas in the oil due to the float sticking and it racked hay all day long before we caught it but my point is that it never caught on fire or had any trouble to this day. I'd say at most gas in the oil would take out bearings not start on fire but it was another great video

Toyota computer detected too much fuel and computer shut off engine so it doesn't blow up, try useing a primative engine like a Lada.
