Ken. I seen your video with Blair from west ( water treatment ) I know Blair, since I checked all your videos .. Great info , love me...

thanks much for the video , i am currently moving in to the mechanical field from the commercial refrigeration field , this is great precursor well done .

I also moved from refrigeration, 2 years ago. Building air is a lot cleaner than nasty old supermarkets. Still a lot to learn for me.

Hi Ken, I really enjoy watching your training video. My question to you is how do you trouble shoot the VAV controller? Thanks

Enjoy watching this video. I have a 10 ton AC with 7 VAV box, one room is very hot. The AC company said it was at maxium CFM for the current VAV box. Do I need to change a large VAV box or I can add a fan to cool down the room?
@KenTraining4 жыл бұрын
I would price out all my options. if you added the fan to increase air flow, we would need to know a few items of data. 1. how much is the current set up doing in CFM and Velocity FPM, then see if there is a fan solution to increase that. 2. price out a 10" box and a 12" box. Do CFM calculations for all situations. the rule of thumb is 400 SQFT / ton. Let us now what direction you go in. Thanks

Oh Sorry, I think my question was addressed on the last part of your video regarding changing the sensitivity to compensate for a higher Hot Water Actuator spring range of 10-15psi. I also noticed that you said you calibrated the thermostat at set point of 5.5 psi, why not at 7.5 psi which is the mid point of the Damper Actuator 5-10 psi spring range.Thanks and Regards.
@southsidecontrolsupplyco.36686 жыл бұрын
Actually it would be 7.5 if your actuator works between 10 to 15 psi .

The calibration of the TITUS Controller is based on the summer time where the medium is cold air. Are there any changes in calibration during winter season where you need hot air ?

Are the AHU and VAVs working together in conjunction based on the BAS sequencing?
@KenTraining3 жыл бұрын
in this case no. My situation was pneumatic. the system you are discribing is DDC.

If you could do a video with that gauge you mentioned and a bid on reverse tstat, that would be awesome

What about the diagram that comes stamp on vav box
@KenTraining2 жыл бұрын
nothing I could do but to block it. I could have taken a picture with my phone and printed it and put it on the box. Yes that diagram is helpful to figure out CFM and air flow.

why didnt you just repair the shaft we do it all the time, all you do is take a drill bit drill out the pop rivet pull broken out push the rest in mark it drill it put new pop rivet and commercial vav should be set for 10% bypass so you dont pull your ducts if you have a main unit not on a vfd supply some states 5%
