Another much needed video for the DIY owner of these fine older Porsches. My near perfect 1986 Porsche 951 recently sprung a radiator leak after I could not avoid hitting some 6" x 6" blocks of wood laying in the left lane of a local freeway here in Virginia USA. All lanes were busy, we were traveling 65MPH and going through S turns - suddenly the 6x6 blocks appeared in the road and I could not stop or change lanes! Bam! One of the blocks grazed the lower driver-side corner of the radiator and the connector with Allen head bolts was barely bent - but the radiator was cracked. Thank you for the video.

Sooo cool! Genau dieser Austausch steht mir nun bevor. Habe fast alle Teile zusammen; nur die Schaumgummi Dichtung scheint es nirgendwo mehr zu geben. 🥲 Vielen Dank für dieses tolle Video! 😃👍

well - that video turned out to be simply perfect, making the job of removing my radiator so much easier, as I watched you video as I went. Turned out the right hand side of the rad has a crack in it. It has been repaired previously, so time for a new one along with some new hoses to be safe 🙂

I just did this task on my 924S. If I had to do it over, and I will as I also have an early 944, I'll drill access holes through the top radiator support to allow for tool access. It's inexcusable that Porsche didn't account for that. How many owners of these cars were stranded by a coolant hose in need of replacement, only to have it turn into a much bigger job than it should be because there isn't any access to the hose clamps unless you drop the fans? For that reason alone if you ever have to change a radiator in one of these cars, you should always change out all the hoses that connect to it as well.

Hi, I used the original Porsche radiators, my dealer has a source to buy them on the after market, they are absolutely identical, but the Porsche numbers have been removed by grinding. It could be Behr, I'll have check, if I find a name on it. Greetings, Jürgen

Hi, it seems that the Porsche radiators for the 944 are produced by NRF. Greetings, Jürgen
