Awesome! Glad it all worked out! I thought about every way to modify or replace that bumper in the coil spring. Not a single second spent on the shock being worn. Well, you have done what I've wanted to do for 200K miles. I've learned a lot about my equinox cause of your first video. Great job and I appreciate your time!

And also a keep in mind note. When or if the flex pipe downstream from the cat.conv. goes bad. Either weld in a new section or if Exhaust manifold cracks and causes the replacement of the cat.conv. Keep the old cat.conv and send it in to a recycler. It will offset the price of repair significantly.

Nice straight forward video. I have a "knock" in the rear on any bumps I go over. Our 2011 has 153K miles, so I am thinking that the shocks are shot. Anyway, as easy as you make this look it seems reasonable to do it even if it does not clear the problem. Thanks for a nice clear video. Jim

Thank you for the kind words. I had the same issue and the socks didn't take care of my issue so, I ordered sway bar bushings and sway bar end links for the rear. I haven't installed them yet but I will post videos for each installation when I do them.

@@DCAutoEnhancement im at 151k miles and saw my left rear link is broken. im investigating an issue i have with really bad rear camber issues the alignment shop said they couldn't do. im thinking bushings for upper control arm and shocks.
@DCAutoEnhancement7 ай бұрын
@@mattieyo the bushings sound logical for the camber issue. Did the alignment shop give you any suggestions?

Hey there I am impressed! Good job. I have 2008 Pontiac Torrent gxp 3.6l. Will this application work on my car?

I am pretty sure that it will since that was made on the same "platform". Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

@@DCAutoEnhancement Thank you for doing this. How is the car ride and handling with this new application? And plz if you can make and update 👍. Thanks again
@DCAutoEnhancement3 жыл бұрын
@@mounirjossef3520 thank you for watching and asking questions. My old shocks were in bad shape so it was a great improvement. With the original shocks after lowering it, the rear bottomed out quite easily. That went away mostly with these shocks. I do think that I should have done some research to find some shocks that were slightly shorter, every once in a while it still bottoms out and I originally thought that it was hitting where the bump stop was but now I'm thinking it might be the shock. This shock definitely works well with this setup and I would use it again because I know it works. If I end up researching and finding a shorter shock that has the same damping rate and is designed to handle the weight of our vehicles, I'll buy those and install them and make a video on that.

How’s it holding up after 2 years? I’m think about doing this mod since I want to take on the challenge of making a tract oriented Equinox. I’d love to hear an update about it
@DCAutoEnhancement9 ай бұрын
I've been pleased with it. I think it's been lowered for 3 years or so and then I did the shocks later. I don't drive it very often theses days. The one thing I would and will do at some point is remove the rest of the bump stop on the rear.
@rbmx1239 ай бұрын
@@DCAutoEnhancement So what does the bump stop do in this config? Is it limiting the performance of the springs in the rear and bottoming out? I'm pleased to hear you enjoy it being lowered. When you did the conversion with the SRX calipers and CTS rotors was the 2011 models the only platforms that would fit or did it stay the same like the Equinox did up untill 2015?
@DCAutoEnhancement9 ай бұрын
@@rbmx123yeah the rear bottoms out on the bump stops. Even if removed, nothing would travel so much to cause damage. As for the brakes, I believe this would work on 2010-2017.
@rbmx1239 ай бұрын
@@DCAutoEnhancement Thank you! That gives me a ton more room to look instead of just praying they still made the calipers for just a 2011. I’ll have to look into removing the bump stop when I do my mod then.
