Great video. What should I do if the film on one side starts to lift up and causes a headstrike, please.

Something is causing the film to lift. Is the tension set properly? Are your rollers clean and pulling the film straight? Is the shaker properly aligned to the printer? Do you have the film suction too high or low? Is this a new issue? Are you using new film? It could be the coating on the film. Just some suggestions, Headstrikes are catastrophic.

we have a similar printer. what is your take up roll like? ours has tension screws and motors. the take up roll is wildly unpredictable and tracks all over the place and always makes messy rolls

What do you mean by take up roll? For us the rolls have never fed straight, we have to re-adjust often. Going underneath that extra bar near the rolls helps feed a bit more straight

Yes its the same, We don't really trust the take up roll motor. Most of our jobs can be trimmed and used right away so we try to avoid the take up whenever possible.

@@transfersuperstars yeah we are having crazy problems with ours it has a mind of its own. we have a po try 4 color. another question, do you have any advice for color banding/color dropping? it seems to let up when we use different film and all unclogging methods don’t really work.

@@morgana8519 Film plays an important role when it comes to laying down inks but banding usually occurs when there are clogged nozzles on the print head. How are your nozzle checks? I usually run a 2x2" color block test at the start of my day to see if I see any banding in my CMYK and Whites. You could also turn on your color bar in your print manager. This makes a continuous color bar that runs along your prints. This helps ensure that your color channels don't clog up as easily during a print run.

Should the film and the cardboard roler be flush with each other on both ends? I'm having issues with shiftingnwhile printing no matter what I do. I've loosen and tightened tension. Tried changing roller pressure. I've not had this issue thw couple yrs I've had this printer. Ughhh

It might be the film, certain films "walk" more than others.
