Thanks for the video! Just replaced mine. This is a bit late, but they have an upgraded replacement now. Made from poly urethane. They still sell both parts, so make sure you get the new urethane when ordering. It has a different part number. Again, thank you. Saved me some time.

Just finished this job on my '13 Azera. It has power telescoping & tilt steering and knee airbag so the column is a bit heavier and has a few more electrical connectors. Part at local Hyundai dealer in Houston sells them loose for $1.35 ea. This car wasn't part of a recall like Sonata's and Elantra's which sucks and explains why they sell the part for so cheap and not even in a sealed plastic bag in my opinion because they are selling so many of them. Should be a total recall on the coupler. Now the important repair tips. Follow what you have already seen to remove the covers and connectors including the two lowest connectors in the fuse panel that are part of a wire loom connected to the steering column, this way they aren't in a bind when you drop the column down. There is also one small connector on the far right with a blue retaining clip that must also come out for same reason (connected to a wire loom on the column). it is right next to a 2nd connector with a blue retaining clip but that one you will see is not part of a wire loom on the column so leave it. The blue clip pulls/prys straight up with some force, then the white connector comes right out. Lastly, and most importantly, once you have replaced the coupler and put the 3 motor screws back in and are ready to "hang" the steering column I highly recommend removing the the metal hanger tab because it just gets in the way and doesn't allow the bottom back bolts to line up with their threaded holes. Stabbing the column onto the front top studs is easy but I fought the heavy column several times before just removing the hanger (mine was held in place with a phillips/8mm machine screw so it came right off), then the very next "stab" onto the studs captured with the two nuts and the back bottom bolts lined right up and screwed in great.

Hi and thanks for the video. I've been looking for a solution my car makes an intermittent knocking and then it stops. I don't know if this is the solution but it makes a similar sound for a few seconds and then stops. It'll go ta ta ta tatattattata and then stop. Then it'll start again later on in the ride some trips not at all

Thank you for the video! Saved me from getting lost in the process of swapping out my own. I did encounter one issue after putting everything back, that there seems to be a grinding sound when I steer now and it wasn't the issue before the swap. It's not inhibiting the steering, but the sound is making me nervous. Any idea what might be wrong?

David Chang well go through ur work again have some one turn the steering for u and look to see where the sound is comming from.
