Make sure that you soak your new plates in new oil before replacing unlike this fellow. The cork needs to be able to completely soak up oil before going into a tight stack that doesn't get a ton of oil flow once assembled.

Got a new to me 92 Seca II 600cc for my first bike. Clutch slips in power band until it’s hot, then it will grip. New friction plates came in today! Will be swapping them tomorrow.

Nice job, thanks Carl! I was told to soak the new friction plates in oil for some time. But what for, the oil gets in there anyway.

That may be a good idea. I think if someone suggested it to me before I had done it I would have. It wouldn’t hurt. Thanks for the idea for next time.

Good instructions Carl. Did you say the bike only had 5,000 miles on it? Somebody must have riding that clutch or reving it up and dumping the clutch to have worn out so soon.😒 Ride safe my friend.👍🏻😎

Very easy video to follow along with! I’m going to be doing this repair next weekend but the xj600 I just picked up is missing the copper washer and bolt that go onto the throw out arm, would you happen to know the part numbers? I’ve been trying to find them online but the diagrams are complicated. I really appreciate any advice and Thankyou for the video!

Thanks for your video man, I don't know if you could help me with my problem, I am having problems when the discs get mounted and the 5 screws in front put back, I can't disengage, the bike is blocked on the "engage", no matter how much I pull the clutch cable... Do you have any idea about what to do ? Thanks a lot mate for your help :)

@@armandsellier9347 have you taken the discs and fiber plates off. Was this a problem you are trying to solve or one that was created after taking it apart?
@armandsellier9347
@armandsellier9347 3 жыл бұрын
@@MotorcyclingwithCarl the problem was initially that the clutch couldn't disengage, when I was pulling the cable and engaging one "speed" It automatically engaged the wheel like if there was no clutch at all... So I opened it and checked the discs to see if they were not stuck together because of the rust or anything else.. But it seems like nothing worked even after cleaning everything... When I mounted the 5 pins back, I think it's that thing that sticks everything together, either that or my cable isn't pulling enough, else I don't know...
